Page 28 of Catch Me

My ears can’t really comprehend what they’re hearing right now. I’ve always felt like I'm reading Nick’s mind, since the moment we kissed for the first time I’ve been unsure on where I stand. I’ve considered that his feelings have a depth to them, one I thought I might never totally understand. But now he’s telling me, albeit by accident but I don’t give a shit.

“What are you saying Nick?”

He grabs my waist, hauling me to his chest. “You know exactly what I’m saying, but I can spell it out for you if you need me to.” He inhales deeply and his hands slide up my back, making my skin shiver and coming to land on either side of my face.

His eyes are open, sincere. “I love you, Lois.”

“Jesus, you’re more mental than me,” I breathe a laugh and he joins me. “But I love you too.”

“You do?”

“Yeah, I do. I don’t know how it happened so fast, but it did and I don’t regret it one bit.”

His mouth crashes onto mine before I can take another breath. One huge hand is splayed out across my lower back, pinning me to his chest. And that’s when the rain starts to fall, like a movie scene. But this main character does not like rain, so the second a droplet lands on my forehead I break the kiss. I grab my suitcase from where it rolled to and run after Nick into the protection of the hotel lobby.

It’s safe to say the rest of the day we’re both sitting snuggly on cloud nine and Nick can’t keep his hands or lips off me no matter where we are. He has continual surprises planned for the day, starting with a trip to London zoo. This was likely my favourite part of the day, I love going out for expensive dates and watching fancy shows but really the key to my heart is soft, cosy, comfortable days. We laughed, held hands the whole way around the zoo and Nick may have bent me over in the bathroom before we went back to the hotel.

Right now he’s straightening his tie, smoothing both hands down the jet black suit he sports and mygodmay I say, he is looking as delicious as a jam doughnut.

“Let me help,” I say, pulling gently at his tie and flattening it with my palm.

He smiles down at me, running a tattooed hand through his hair. “You’re beautiful.”

“Thank you.” I hold my smile in because really any compliments from him make me giddy. My body is covered with a slinky, black, thigh length dress. The satin ruffles in the right places and almost looks painted on, the delicate material sliding over the curve of my hips and waist. Nick looks like he might start to drool at any moment as his eyes meander up my figure to land back on my face. He’s hungry for me again, I can tell by the naughty glint in his eye.

I pat his chest. “Come on big boy, we better go or we’ll be late for the show.”

Nick has booked a piano concert for us, he planned it yesterday as soon as I had told him how much joy the piano brings me. He’s the sweetest thing ever, but you’d never know that looking at him. As he walks me to the lift I can’t help but stare and think about that fact. The man is six-foot-four, ink travelling over almost every inch of his skin, muscles that could snap a steel door in half without even breaking a bead of sweat. And yet, he’sall soft and gooey on the inside, no matter how hard he tries to deny it.

The lift doors ping open and we step inside.

“You’re like Antarctica aren’t you?” I muse, letting him thread his fingers through mine.

He pauses. “You’ve lost me.”

I let out a melodic laugh. “It’s a desert, but you wouldn’t know that when you look at it.” I shrug, peering up at him. “That’s why it reminds me of you, you’re not what you look like on the outside.”

He dips his face to mine, flashing me a toothy grin before kissing me hard and nibbling on my bottom lip. My pussy dances and I have to clench my thighs together to shut her the hell up. She’ll have to wait until later.

“I love you,” he breathes against my parted lips, forehead on mine.

“You said that already.”

“And I'll say it everyday that you let me love you.”

Nick pulls me by the hand to our seats, the theatre is buzzing with atmosphere. The grand piano stands elegantly on the stage, attracting attention like the beacon of a lighthouse on a dark beach. I stare at it, mesmerised as Nick drags me behind him and we drop down into our seats, my eyes never blinking.

The concert starts promptly and Nick’s fingers twist through mine, squeezing every now and then. When the music slows and the break is approaching I tear my eyes off the stage for the first time and glance over at Nick. His face is a picture of awe, bright chocolate eyes sparkling with amazement. He catches me staring as people filter out of the theatre to grab whatever snacks or drinks they need before the second half of the concert.

Nick leans closer to me. “You know, I booked this that night that you told me about loving piano and I didn’t really expect it to be my thing. But I'm enjoying this way more than I thought I would.”

“Good,” I say, planting a kiss against his warm cheek.

He grins back at me and my heart flutters. “You know what would make this even better?”

“I’m not sucking your dick.”

Nick’s eyes roll but his grin flashes back at me. “That’s not what I was going to say…but if you’re offering?” I plant a hand over his mouth and we both laugh. The sound rings through my ears and for a split second I feel like everything in my life is going to be ok if I'm with Nick. He looks over my shoulder at the timer on the wall, counting down to when the pianist will be back for the second half of the show. We have twenty-five minutes of the break left and Nick’s face splits into a triumphant smile that makes my chest tight with anticipation. He stands up, pulling me with him out of the theatre and towards the bathrooms at the far end of the building. There’s a line for the women’s as always, but the family bathroom and the disabled one are empty and tucked back against the far wall, out of eye and ear shot.
