“She is, and I want to learn more but right now we need to deal with the HID spy currently trying to get employed by us,” Griff says.
I smirk, he admitted he thinks I’m hot too.
Totally not what I should be focusing on right now. Do I care? Nope. It’s giving me little butterflies and I like that feeling so I’m fucking savoring it.
“He’s right,” I reply, pulling myself together. “As much as I like the idea of you guys pulling the bitch apart. You can’t. How would you know I was dead and that she was involved in it? There is no proof apart from me, and I’m supposed to be dead. They can’t find out that I am alive, and I can guarantee that she is up to something here. We need to get her out of the building without raising any suspicions as soon as fucking possible.”
“I’ll message Ty and get him to meet us in here. He is probably the best person to deal with it,” Evander says, pulling out his phone and sending a quick text.
“That’s smart. I think every one of us would have a problem remaining polite or even nice to her,” Ransom replies.
“True,” Raiden replies, a flash of darkness in his eyes that makes me think that he’s thinking of ways that he could make her pay for what she did to me. He looks formidable, dangerous, and really fucking hot.
“Why are you all in Jerry’s old office and why couldn’t you walk five doors down to mine?” Ty asks as he enters the room, closing the door behind him.
“The woman being interviewed next door is one of the HID agents directly involved in my attempted murder,” I explain. I only remember at the last second that Ty doesn’t know about the whole dying thing and, so it's an attempted murder and not an actual murder.
That would be complicated to explain.
“Shit,” Ty replies. “Give me a second.”
He turns around and heads back out of the door that he just came through.
“Where’s he going?” I ask, slightly confused.
“To get rid of the woman next door,” Ransom replies.
I pull a face, “Really? He just believed me? He didn’t question if I was sure or say that it couldn’t be because this place is secured or anything.”
“Of course he believed you,” Evander says gently.
“Huh,” I reply, still somewhat confused by the whole situation.
The door opens again, and Ty walks back in a heavy frown on his face, “She has been dealt with and escorted from the building. I’m sorry Neith but there is very little that we can do at the moment.”
I nod, “I know. That’s what I said to them.” I feel the need to double check so I ask, “There’s no chance that she can see me and the room is empty?”
Ty nods, “She’s gone and yes the room is now empty, why?”
“Follow me. Just stay quiet and do not say my name,” I say as I head toward the door.
They all nod, although they look confused, and follow me from the room and to the room that she was next door. I know how HID works, and I’m willing to bet that she has stuck bugs in this room and everywhere else that she has been able to access as well. Keeping silent I walk into the room and start to search. In no time at all, I have pulled out seven that she has hidden around the room, and I place them on the desk, making the guys eyes widen with each one that I find.
Without saying anything at all, Ransom flicks his fingers toward them, and they all zap and buzz before they fry on the spot. He frowns, and I feel his magic expand. I have no idea what he’s doing, but his frown deepens the longer that he does it.
“She had placed thirty-six bugs, they were all through the building and in areas that she shouldn’t have been in. I’ve destroyed them all,” Ransom explains as soon as he’s done.
Ty’s eyebrows rise, “You were able to do that from here?”
“Yeah,” Ransom replies, although he’s frowning like something has just occurred to him.
Ty’s smile widens, I wouldn’t be surprised if he knows something that we don’t, in fact we know that he knows lots of things that we don’t. That was sort of an obvious thing to think.
I’m spiraling.
“I would hold off on the new hires for a while,” Raiden suggests, “there is a good chance that she isn’t the first one that they have tried to sneak in here.”
“She’s the first one that has brought bugs in. I didn’t find any more and I scanned the entire building and the grounds too,”Ransom says, “I’ll go around and make sure that they are all collected.”
