I pay for clear information, and this person knows that. Tapping my finger on my thigh, I wait them out.

It appears she took some business advice from someone and chose to become more transitional in her auctions. She’ll choose a location, have a one day auction that she’ll tell her regulars about, and then leave that same night.
Shit, well it sounds a lot like Slick Dreams’ business model. I wonder if they talked at some point, since I know Bret had bought from her before. The criminals are getting smarter.
Fucking awesome.

Anything else I need to know?

If I can catch whispers of her next auction, I’ll contact you for our usual fee.

Appreciate it. Sending over money now.
I’m just finishing the transaction when I see Linus and Quinn step out of the building. Turning off the truck, I climb out and cross the street, hitting the alarm as I reach them.
“Feel like taking a walk?” I ask. “The construction site isn’t far from here. Figure it may be a good opportunity to go see it.”
“I’d love to,” Quinn says as Linus nods.
The weather is beautiful, we may as well enjoy it before it gets overcast.
“How was Dr. Alys?” I ask as we walk. I won’t pry, but I want to know if she’s a good match for them as a therapist.
“I really like her,” Linus says. “She knows when to push and when to just listen.”
“She does,” Quinn says. “We also didn’t shock her as much as I thought we would.”
I think that’s definitely a factor that’s kept them from going to group therapy at Omega’s Haven. There are also a lot of omegas there from Slick Dreams, which also makes Quinn in particular uncomfortable.
They didn’t treat her very well.
The tree branches sway in the breeze as we walk through the neighborhood, and soon, we’re in front of the quickly rising building. There’s a frame, walls, and Christian said they’re working on the interior now.
“It looks good,” Quinn murmurs. “Who exactly will live here?”
“There are people at the shelter who are moving along well but need a more permanent and private space to live in,” I explain. “This will give that to them as they save money for their own place.”
“I love that they’ll have this stepping stone,” Linus murmurs.
It’s almost five in the afternoon, which means Christian will be finishing up.
“Did Adira decide on a midwife?” Quinn asks suddenly. “Sorry, it just popped into my mind. It’s hard to imagine Pack Dresmond doing something so mundane as interviewing midwives.”
Chuckling, I nod. She’s not wrong. “They did. Her name is Nova, and she’s a new midwife in the area. She’s been practicing for ten years though, and isn’t afraid of Pack Dresmond for some reason,” I say with a grin.
“It’s their first baby, I can see that they’re nervous,” Quinn says.
I don’t see Christian yet, but his truck is parked on the street.
“It was unexpected, but they’re so excited,” I say. “Kane especially is. Have you noticed how they talk as much to her stomach as they do her?”
