“Yeah. Just getting a bit uncomfortable.” He shot me a wry grin. “Going bare is messy, and I’m in the wet spot.”

“Oops.” Laughing, I rolled off him. “Here, shift over, and I’ll get us something to clean up with.”

Jamie shimmied to the left as I scooted to the edge of the bed and grabbed the packet of baby wipes I kept under there for quick clean-ups.

“Handy.” He pulled a few from the offered package.

I pulled some wipes from the pack and tossed it aside. “Saves me from having to get my ass up and into the bathroom after an O.”

“Smart man.”

It was a bit awkward cleaning up while lying in bed together, but that was mostly because we couldn’t stop laughing as we rolled around. Going bare was messy, but totally worth it to get to share that intimacy with Jamie.

When we were done, Jamie lay back on the bed, but before I could say anything, he reached under him and pulled out one of the fake rose petals I’d written my message in. “Plastic?” he asked, rubbing it between his fingers.

“I saw a TikTok where this botanist explained how they prep roses for transportation, and let’s just say that fake is the way to go.”

“I’ll take your word for it.” He tossed the petal aside and crooked his finger at me. “Now get back over here and cuddle me.”

Getting up on my hands and knees, I crawled over to him. “And it’s not like I’d know where to get real rose petals anyway. I found those when I was looking for the candles.”

“A florist?” Jamie suggested as I lay on top of him like we’d been before we’d stopped to clean up.

I dropped my head on his chest with a groan. “I didn’t even think of that. I really am just a dumb jock.”

“Maybe.” Jamie ran his hands up my arms and cupped my cheeks, gently lifting my head. “But you’re my dumb jock.” He pecked a kiss against my mouth.

I parted my lips, deepening the kiss before he could pull away.

Jamie sighed and kissed me back, rubbing my cheeks with slow arcs of his thumbs.

We stayed like that for a long time, just kissing each other. There was no urgency, no seduction. Our kisses were slow and lazy and indulgent, the kind of kisses that were about sharing intimacy with someone you couldn’t get enough of.

When we finally broke apart, we were both grinning like fools.

“I love you,” he said, smoothing the pad of his thumb over my eyebrow.

“I love you too.”

“I can’t believe you wore a plug tonight.” He huffed out an affectionate laugh. “Only you would go from ass play virgin to wearing a plug out on a date so you could take your first dick with no prep.”

“I saw it going differently in my head,” I confessed. “But I’m not mad at how it all turned out.” I paused. “Well, not totally mad. I’m pissed as hell I made you freak out and ruined our date.”

Jamie pressed a loud, smacking kiss against my hair. “Stop beating yourself up over that. You didn’t ruin anything. I would have been in even worse shape than you if I’d had my plug in while we’d been out.”

“You think?” I asked.

He snort-laughed. “I know I would have. Do you remember when you went with Asa to sell that guy his old laptop?”

I nodded.

“And you remember how I pretty much tackled you when you came home?”

“I remember,” I said with a grin.

That had been a fun evening. I’d barely closed the door behind me when Jamie slammed me against the wall and kissed the shit out of me. Before I’d fully registered what was happening, he dropped to his knees and gave me one of the best blowjobs I’d ever had.

It was messy and wet and full of desperate need. And the sounds Jamie made, the low moans and frantic slurps, had been playing in my head on a loop ever since.
