She nodded, pushing her face into my chest as I felt her shudder. The sound of a door banging made Valencia jump away from me, taking her warmth and comfort.

“Please let me know how he is,” she said, wiping her eyes.

“Of course we will,” Ro said, stepping away from her.

“Florida, are you ok?” Cap came up to us.

“Yeah, I just haven’t seen a hit so hard and the sound of his pain just…” Another tear fell.

“Yeah, seeing that is awful and it’s hard to deal with,” Cap said, pulling her in for a hug.

“I was just asking if the guys could give me an update on how he’s doing,” she said, wiping her eyes.

“Of course,” he said, looking at Ro and I with suspicion.

“He’ll be fine, Florida,” Ro said, not looking at Cap.

Fucking hell, don’t tell me he knew too.

“I’ll let you guys go. Sorry about the water works,” she said with a sad smile.

“You don’t have to apologize,” I said, hoping to make her feel better or something other than what she was feeling.

“G’night,” she said, and as she passed us, I put the key to my apartment into her hand.

I looked over my shoulder to see her walking away as we yelled good night before we walked out the door.

“Please tell me Webber wasn’t right,” he said.

I tensed, cursing Webber and his big fucking mouth.

“Webber is wrong about a lot of things,” I said, not getting specific.

“Yeah, like that one time he told us about a Thai place close to the hotel and we ended up walking like two miles and never finding it,” Ro chuckled, acting so oblivious to it. I loved it.

Cap stared at us like he was trying to decide if he should believe Webber.

“Dude, you’re freaking me out,” Ro said, shaking his head. “What’s going on?”

“You tell me,” he said, narrowing his eyes at me.

“Are we still going to go see Webber or did something happen?” I asked, looking at Cap and then Ro like I was confused.

“Dammit guys, please don’t be doing something stupid,” he sighed, running his hand through his hair. “Be careful.”

I didn’t want to say anything, the least amount of people that knew was better.

“The only stupid thing we did was fight so much,” Ro said.

“That’s true,” I said, and Cap agreed.

“Ok, let’s go check in on him,” Cap said. “Clarke said he would meet us there.

We all drove there separately, even though it would have made sense for Ro and I to drive together. I texted Valencia to go to my apartment and wait for us there because I wanted to see her, to comfort her. The hospital was surprisingly busy, andparking was a little difficult. Ro and I managed to find a parking spot close to each other. It’s like he knew I needed him, or we just needed each other.

We walked in together, finding the elevators quickly. Once the doors closed on us. Ro pulled me towards him. I sighed into his neck, needing exactly this. Seeing Webber get hurt, realizing I was probably next and the worried look on Valencia’s face, had me feeling anxious. My life felt like it was spinning out of control, and I didn’t know how to make it stop spinning. Ro’s arms tightened around me, easing some of the pressure in my chest.

“It’s gonna be ok,” he said, kissing my cheek.
