“I like being soft,” he chuckled. “I think it was time I needed some softness and love in my life.”

“I want that too,” I whispered.

“Call them,” he said.

“I will,” I sighed.

“Also, let me know if Coop bothers you again,” he said sternly. “Easton says we can kick his ass. It will probably be him because I’m too old to kick someone's ass.”

“Nah, people like us hire someone to do the dirty work for us,” I chuckled.

“That's why I have all this money,” he said matter of factly. “Now go get your couple back.”

“I will,” I said. “Bye.”

“Genevieve don’t push them away, be happy, it feels fucking great,” he said before ending the call.

I wiped my tears, taking a big breath, dialing Camila before I chickened out. With each ring that went by the more I realized that maybe I had waited too long.

“Hello.” Camila’s voice was unsure.

“Hi,” I said. “Can I come over?”

It was quiet for a second.

“I didn’t think you were going to call back,” she said.

“I need to explain things, please.” I wasn’t above begging and Vincent was right. I was great on my knees.

“Ok,” she said.

“I’ll see you in fifteen minutes?” I didn’t keep the desperation out of my voice.

“Tomorrow for breakfast.” It wasn’t a question.

The urgency I had was going to make me go crazy all night.

“Ok, what time?” I didn’t want to rock the boat.

The phone sounded like it was moving around when I heard Luke’s voice. They were whispering and it didn’t sound like it was good.

“I’m sorry,” I blurted and they stopped talking. “I got scared. I have never had a relationship like ours and when Cheryl showed up, I shut down even though I knew it was wrong. Thesefeelings I’m having made me irrational and I just want to say I’m sorry in person please.”

More silence, this made me think the worse.

“Come in fifteen minutes.” Luke's voice came through.

“I’m on my way.” The called end, for once feeling good about what was happening.

I could fix this and hopefully we could go back to how we were because I was so tired of being alone. This wasn’t living and if they would take me back I would show them that I want to try.

Camila

Ididn’t want to see Genevieve tonight, if she wanted to talk she would have to wait. That day she dismissed us, we didn’t know what the hell happened and it made it worse when she didn’t reach out like we thought she would. We were starting to lose hope that this had ended without a conversation. She had gotten scared and left us with nothing.

In true Camila fashion, after that day, I was pissed. I went from being sad to wanting to go over to her house just to give her a piece of my mind. It didn’t help that Luke had gone quiet and I didn’t like the defeated look on his face that said he felt guilty that this had been his fault. A part of me felt guilty too. Why had we been stupid enough to bring another woman into our bedroom?
