The sound of her wetness was like the sweetest symphony as I slurped her clit into my mouth. I took my time eating and playing with her—making her cum three times before pulling my fingers out. Kissing up her body, I licked and sucked her nipples before making my way to her neck and lips. She panted and fought to catch her breath as her legs wrapped around me.
“You’re just as sweet as I thought you would be.”
“Marshall,” she pleaded just above a whisper, gripping my dick. “Are you going to make me beg?”
The sound of whimpers flowed through Denver’s monitor, and this was the first time he had horrible timing.
“I wonder what’s wrong,” she said, gently pushing me off her. “He’s been sleeping through the night.”
“He did fall asleep earlier than usual.”
“Oh shit. You’re right. It’s about to be a very long night.”
All I could do was chuckle because she was right. We were talking on the ride home and didn’t even realize he’d fallen asleep. I think we both were hoping he’d sleep for the rest of the night, but clearly that wouldn’t be the case. He would probably be like a little energizer bunny for the next several hours before he crashed, which meant I’d have to see how his mama’s walls wrapped around my dick another night.

My Manny: We can’t wait for you to get home.
The picture Marshall sent me of him and Denny made me smile. I missed them already, and I’d only been at the office for a few hours. Was this normal? Enjoying being with a man so much that you hated being away from him? Logically I knew life didn’t revolve around him and my son, butmylife did, and I couldn’t wait to get back to them.
Sighing, I stood and headed out of my office. Jessica was busy typing away at her computer, but that didn’t stop me from blurting, “I’m falling in love with the manny. That’s a horrible idea, right?” Since she stared at me and blinked, I continued. “I’m stretched thin as it is. I hired him to help with my son because I was low on time. How crazy would it look for me to get into a relationship right now? How would that even work?”
“Are you done?”
“Yes,” I whined with a roll of my eyes, causing her to chuckle.
“It’s not a horrible idea. It’s a good idea. You know upfront that he’s great with kids and adores your son. From what you tell me, he adores you too. Youwerestretched thin, but he’s been helping you. I don’t think it’s crazy at all. I think it’s actually quite sane.”
I considered her words. Life had been easier with Marshall in it. Our routine was working beautifully. The time I spent with my son was most cherished. Being with Marshall, too, was like the cherry on top. Maybe I was overthinking, because last night, I had no reservations at all. But in the light of the day, it felt like I was looking for a reason to pull away from something that felt too good to be true.
“What if he leaves?”
“What if he doesn’t?”
“What if it fails?”
“What if it flourishes?”
“Jessiiieee.”
“No. I’m not going to subscribe to your overthinking. You’re doing enough of that as is. Marshall’s a great guy for the both of you. Get out of your head and into your heart. It won’t steer you wrong.”
My mouth twisted to the side as I considered her words. I dropped a quick kiss to her cheek and thanked her before heading back to my office to text Marshall.
Me: I can’t wait to get back home to y’all too ??
That Evening
Denver cuddled against me,fighting his sleep. He was in a clingy mood, and I didn’t mind at all. Marshall was unusually quiet downstairs and I wondered what he was up to, but he told me not to come down until he came to get me.
As I hummed a lullaby to my son and rocked him, a comfortable smile rested on my face. The changes in our lives in such a short time felt surreal, but I was grateful to God for it. I knew Denny was about to go to sleep when he reached for my ear. He held mine and his to put himself to sleep. I continued to rock him in the rocking chair until I heard the sound of his little snores. With a smile, I held him for a little while longer before giving him a few kisses and putting him in his bed.
I watched over him in awe until Marshall came to get me.
“What are you up to?” I asked him as curiosity got the best of me.
