“Mm-hm.”

“Care to share the joke?”

“Maybe not…? It’s really just that I feel so good. Amazing, really.”

He pulled out of her and flipped her over so fast she barely had time to realize what was happening as he landed a few sharp smacks on her ass, but that only made her giggle more.

He flipped her back over and fake-glared down at her. “You are impossible, you know that?”

She shrugged. “I’ve been called worse.”

“What am I gonna do with you?” he said wryly.

“I don’t know, but I mean, don’t threaten me with a good time,” she said, batting her lashes.

“A good time, huh?” He grinned as he pinched her nipple so hard it made her yelp. “Give me five minutes to recover and I’ll show you a good time, sunshine.”

She just grinned at him—she felt too good all over to do anything else.

“I thought we were going to ride horses today,” she said.

“I’m surprised you reminded me, but thanks! Breakfast cart is probably sitting outside the door. Let’s eat and get ready,” he said a bit too cheerfully.

“Wait! We could just stay right here in bed all day, couldn’t we?”

“Yeah, we could. But we’re heading back into the Dungeon tonight, and I’ve reserved the horses, so… off you go.” He pulled her onto her feet and gave her ass another good smack.

“Hey!”

“Aw, c’mon, Micha. That didn’t hurt. Save that for later when I’m taking a paddle to your ass when it’s already sore from riding today. On top of these pretty marks I already left there.”

She rubbed a hand over the stinging spot on her butt.

“You really are a sadist,” she grumbled.

He yanked her in hard against his chest, and despite her grumbling, she loved the way he was manhandling her.

He murmured against her mouth, “All fun and games aside, you were amazing.”

Then he kissed her, his mouth soft and demanding at the same time, and she melted into him. Just as her body began to really heat up again, he pulled back.

“Let’s get that breakfast cart, darlin’. I’m grumpy without my coffee. Then we’ll clean up and head out to for a ride. And don’t look so worried. I’ll be right there with you, okay?”

“Uh, why do I feel like that wasn’t really a question?”

He chuckled. “Because you know damn well you’re gonna do what you’re told.”

All she could think as he slipped his sweats back on and went to get the cart was that he was right. She would do as she was told. And she’d fucking love it. The being told part, anyway. Riding a horse? Not so much. But her body was still humming with pleasure, and she wasn’t able to work up any real nerves about it. It was Arrow. He’d take good care of her. He always did.

It was such an enormous relief to have someone she could really count on. Finally.

But the question was, what exactly were they doing? And where did it go from here?

“Micah, come and eat breakfast!” he called from the next room.

“Be right there.”

He was probably going to keep her too busy to think about it. But they had to at some point. Didn’t they?
