“Okay. You want to talk? Or just get some chocolate into your system?”
“Both? If that’s okay?”
“That’s what I’m here for. So, tell me as much as you want to, okay?”
“It’s just that… well, we didn’t play all that hard, so it’s not really that. But, Luna, we’ve been friends for years, and now we’re finally playing together, but it’s so much more than that for me. I knew it would be because we care for each other so much. I knew I trusted him with my body and my well-being. And I still do. And things went in a direction I sort of didn’t expect, somehow, which is silly because we’d negotiated it.”
“So things got intimate?”
Micah nodded and accepted the mug of hot chocolate Luna held out for her.
“Chocolate helps with subdrop. Go ahead and get some of those nice hormones in your system, ‘kay?”
Micah nodded and sipped. “Thanks for thinking of the whipped cream,” she said with a small smile.
“I just did what I would have wanted in your position. So. Did it upset you that he left the room and didn’t tell you?”
“Well, yeah. He probably thought I was asleep. But I didn’t even hear him check on me.”
“Hethoughtyou were? I’m confused. Wasn’t he there with you?”
Micah shook her head. “That part confused me, too. Especially after… what happened in the Dungeon.”
To her surprise Luna grinned. “Oh, honey. That man isgone.”
Micah blinked at her. “Yeah, he left me here all by myself.”
Luna actually giggled. “No, I mean gone. Like head over heels for you. And Domly or not—and he is definitely a total Dom, through and through—he is crushinghardon you, and he doesn’t know how to handle it.”
“I don’t know about that.”
“I’d put money on it. And honestly, it may have caused some Top drop, too, you know?”
“Oh. I asked him after we played and he insisted he was fine.”
“Men!” Luna rolled her eyes. “Always have to be so strong. Especially Doms.”
Micah nibbled on her lip, then stopped to take another sip of the chocolate. It was warm and sweet and comforting.
“Maybe. I just don’t know.”
“You don’t have to figure it all out now. It sounds like tonight was pretty intense for you, so this is probably not the best time to try to process it. But it does sound like you two need to talk. Meanwhile, want me to stay with you until he gets back? I feel like you shouldn’t be alone right now.”
Micah smiled at her. “That would be nice, actually. But don’t you need to be at the front desk?”
“I waved someone down to cover for me. It’s totally fine. Now, do you have a favorite comfort movie?” Luna asked, grabbing the tv remote.
“Um, I do, but they’re all romantic comedies.”
“I love romantic comedies! Let’s browse.”
She was still feeling pretty unsettled as Luna scooted closer and pulled up the tv menu, but it did help to have someone else there with her—someone who seemed to understand. But just as they decided on a film, the door opened and Arrow stepped into the room.
“Oh!”
“Good evening, Arrow, Sir,” Luna said. “I just came to keep Micah company. I can get out of your way, though.” She stood and headed for the door, then paused to turn around. “Micah, if you ever need anything, you just buzz the front desk, okay? If I’m not on duty there, someone will know where to find me.”
“Thanks, Luna. For everything.”
