Epilogue

San Francisco in the springtime could be as foggy as any time of year, but tonight the sky was clear and scattered with stars as Adam led his beautiful Skye into The Ring, the kink club where Shaye worked. They hadn’t played there often in the eight months they’d been together, but tonight was special.

Adam’s best friends would be there: Shaye and his sub Devin, who Skye had become close with, as well as his British buddy Roan, an architect who worked as a dungeon design consultant, and had flown in from some island where he was putting together a grand kink club at a resort.

“Nervous, baby?” he asked, giving Skye’s small hand a quick squeeze.

“A little. Mostly I’m excited,” she said, her golden-brown eyes shining. “Are you?”

“Me? Of course not.” He paused to watch her lovely grin for a moment before he burst out laughing. “Okay, yes, I’m nervous, my sweet. But like you, mostly excited.”

She stood on her toes to give him a kiss, and the soft brush of her sweet lips reminded him of why they were there.

He wrapped a hand behind her head, buried his fingers in the soft brown waves and pulled—and smiled at her gasp.

“That’s just to remind you of what we have, babygirl.”

He saw the light in her eyes go from a dim gleam to a sparkling glow.

“I never forget,” she said quietly.

His heart melted as he leaned down to kiss her again, brushing his lips over hers.

“Get a room, you two,” Esme teased, coming up behind him.

Adam laughed. “Oh, we will.”

She reached for Skye’s hand, pulling her away from him. “Come with me, ducks. We have a ceremony to prepare for. And you, Adam, you have some preparations to make as well, I think?”

“I do.”

“Save those words for later,” Esme said, sending him a saucy wink.

He moved into the club, his eyes adjusting to the dim lighting, and found his friend Shaye at the bar.

“Hey.”

Shaye turned around. “Adam, how are you?”

“Honestly? Better than I’ve ever been in my life,” he said, sitting on a stool next to him.

Shaye nodded, a grin on his face. “I know how you feel, bro.”

“We’re a fucking pair, aren’t we? I thought we’d both be single forever.”

“Hell, yeah. But here we are, on the night of your—”

“Aye, you two!”

They turned to see Roan enter the club, his tall frame filling up the doorway.

“Roan! It’s good to see you. Thanks for coming.”

Roan strode across the room to clap them both on the back. “I wouldn’t have missed it.”

He sat next to Adam and Shaye got up and went behind the bar.

“Something to drink?” Shaye asked.
