She laughed again. She was so fucking gorgeous when she laughed. “That’s true, but you were going to let me go. And you killed seven men protecting me. I think that makes up for it.”
I grinned. “Well, I can do more if you need me to. Anything to keep you smiling.”
Another laugh. It was my lucky day. “You’re something else.” She leaned down and kissed me.
Definitely my lucky day.
“What about the road trip?” I asked.
“Oh, we’re still going to finish it. Raleigh took Elise to get my car and our stuff from the hotel. But I’m not leaving until you’ve recovered.”
My brows furrowed. “What about your dad? Won’t he keep sending men after you?”
She shrugged. “Your dad has a plan.”
That confused me even more. I wondered what he was thinking, especially since he was so adamant about me not fucking the kidnapping up.
Lucia looked around. “I can’t believe you have a whole medical setup in your clubhouse.”
I chuckled. “We get injured a lot. We usually go to the doctor’s clinic, but sometimes he comes here to fix us up. So it just made sense to have a room for him with everything he needs. We use it to patch each other up when we have small injuries too.”
She nodded. “How do you feel?”
“A little sore, but nothing I can’t handle. Been shot before, and I’ll probably be shot again.”
She shook her head with a laugh. “So no big deal, huh?”
“Nah,” I joked. “Should be good to go by tomorrow.”
A coy smile curved her pretty lips. “Good enough for some extracurricular activities?”
I arched a brow, my dick hardening at her innuendo. “Definitely. But you’ll have to be on top.”
Her cheeks flushed pink. “I’ve never been on top before. It might be disappointing for you.”
“There’s no way in hell that’s possible,” I said, reaching up to cup her cheek. “That pussy is perfect.”
Lucia shushed me, looking over both shoulders. “Someone could hear you,” she whispered with a giggle.
I smirked. “I don’t care. Everyone around here needs to know that pussy’s mine.”
She fought a smile but failed. “So it wasn’t just an act?”
Her smile fell as I searched her eyes. “No. Once I met you, everything changed. You made me feel things in the past couple of days that I’ve never felt with anyone.”
She bit down on her bottom lip, nodding. “I feel the same. Is that crazy?”
I chuckled. “Maybe. But I’ll be crazy if that means I can have you.”
Lucia kissed me again. “You know I’m moving to Seattle, right? Elise and I have an apartment there already.”
My stomach sank, but I tried not to let my disappointment show. “We can figure it out. Where there’s a will, there’s a way.”
She smiled, but it didn’t quite reach her eyes. “Yeah. Anything’s possible, right?”
The next day, the doctor cleared me to go home with orders to take it easy.
I had other things in mind.
