We all clinked our glasses and tapped them on the bar before downing them.
Nina pointed out a table tent on the bar. “Ooh, it's ladies night. Two-dollar drinks from nine to eleven.”
We all glanced at each other and grinned. “Thank God we got an Uber,” I said.
We laughed as Nina waved the bartender over. She ordered us a round of lemon drops, and the bartender quickly made them.
As we downed the shot, I winced as the sour drink hit my throat. “Damn, we're going to get fucked up tonight.”
The next round was a sex on the beach. We took those to a pool table nearby and decided to play a game before our next round. We definitely needed to pace ourselves if we were going to last the night.
I caught a guy at the pool table next to ours checking me out. He was good-looking, even if he wasn't as hot as Ford, and from the current selection at the saloon, he was my best option.
He was with two other guys who were also attractive, but he was the best-looking. I smiled at him as I took a sip of my drink.
He set his pool cue against the table and headed my way.
Hook, line, and sinker.
Nina was lining up the balls on the table as he reached me. He grinned, showing off a perfect set of teeth. “Hi. My name's Rhett.” He extended his hand to me.
I placed my hand in his, and he pulled it to his lips to kiss the back of it. “Dixyn.”
“Pretty name for an even prettier girl.”
He had blond hair and hazel eyes, and was even hotter up close. I wasn't normally into the cowboy thing, but he looked damn good in tight jeans and a cowboy hat.
My stomach fluttered, but not with the same intensity as it did with Ford. I felt my cheeks heat. “Thank you.”
I could feel the girls watching us as he asked, “Can I buy you a drink, Dixyn?”
I smiled. The night was going exactly as I'd wanted. “Sure. I'll have a vodka soda with lime.” I decided to stay away from my usual so I didn't get trashed too fast. Plus, I kinda felt like that was a special thing I had with Ford and didn't want to share with anyone else.
Stop thinking about Ford, I mentally scolded myself.
“Comin' right up.” He walked to the bar to get my drink, and the girls swooped in for the gossip.
“He's hot,” Nina commented.
“Save a biker, ride a cowboy?” Meghan joked.
Rolling my eyes, I laughed. I wasn't looking for anything serious, but a girl had needs. If I was going to stay away from Ford, I needed a replacement.
Rhett returned with my drink and grinned at my friends. I introduced everyone as Rhett's buddies joined us.
“How would y'all like to play a friendly game of battle of the sexes?” one of the other guys asked.
“I'm down,” Nina replied.
Hannah shrugged as Meghan said, “Sure, why not?”
I smiled up at Rhett and arched a brow. “Losers buy the next round?”
Rhett stuck out his hand with a smirk. “You're on.”
The girls and I were able to throw the guys off their game by distracting them with sexual innuendos and provocative movements enough to win the first match.
As the other two guys went to get our drinks, Rhett came over to me, smirking. “Good game. I won't let you distract me so easily the next time.”
