The responses were all emojis.
Everything from a smiley face with heart eyes to an eggplant and peach.
I’m not saying anything else. I rented a cabin for the night. I’m safe. Everything is fine. Now leave me alone. I’m going back for more. #bikercockisbest
Eden knew that would get Liv going crazy. At the same time, Eden wasn’t lying at all.
Biker cock was the best cock she ever had.
Chapter Nineteen
The Shape of the Morning
Eden wore the covers from the bed. Priest was fully dressed as normal. Lucky for both, the woman Eden rented the cabin from stocked the fridge with plenty of food. They could have stayed for a week, easily, before running out of food. However, the lack of alcohol in the place, that was a concern. An unopened bottle of wine on the counter with a note from the woman who owned the cabin thanking Eden for the business was the only stuff in the place.
Priest decided to cook some burgers, which he shaped by hand and cooked in a large, black, cast iron pan. Eden sipped wine right from the bottle, admiring in some strange way that a man like Priest could go from murder to sex to cooking so smoothly.
She shared the wine with Priest, who chugged it. Priest hated the taste of wine. But it was all they had.
“I don’t think I’ve ever had a man cook for me,” Eden said.
“I find that hard to believe.”
“I swear on it.”
“Who the hell have you been dating then?”
“You met my ex,” Eden said.
She smiled, wondering if there would ever exist a time when the subject of Priest murdering Cody would be something to joke about.
“You have a curious nature about yourself, doll. I know you’re thinking about it. I know you want to ask what happened after we left. I know you know you can’t know.”
Eden nodded. “I’m not used to this, Priest.Duh.This side of things.”
“Not many are. You’re too worried about the police and all that bullshit. That’s how you’ve been trained since you were a little kid. Just let it go. It’s handled.”
Priest finished cooking, placing four freshly cooked burgers on four buns.
“Lettuce, tomato, and all that other rabbit food?” Priest asked.
“No, thanks,” Eden whispered.
“Good for you,” he said. He grabbed a plate and handed it to Eden. “Hope you don’t like your burgers overcooked.”
“Just as long as it’s not so raw it’s stillmooing.”
Priest half smirked and nodded at Eden. That subtle look felt like someone tickling Eden’s heart for some reason. Her mind said one thing in that moment.
Ut-oh.
Eden sat on the floor with her back against the bed while Priest sat on the bed, his feet firmly on the floor. They ate and drank in silence. The burgers were heavenly, the wine decent enough.
“Wish I could just hide here forever,” Eden said.
“Fuck that,” Priest said. “Don’t hide from anything. You have nothing to hide from now.”
Eden looked up at Priest. Her jaw tightened for a second. “What happens now, Priest? This just all goes away? I mean, you have to trust me now.”
