That fucking rat.
So much put into motion because of thatrat. They hadn’t even figured out when to bring inDr. Smile. At some point therat’s body was going to just call it quits and he was going to die. He didn’t deserve to die like that. To just curl up and wither and shake and shiver and beg for death.
Instead of handlingDr. Smile, here Priest was, driving to some cabin to get Eden out of her apartment. The club would handle Cody’s body. Darrow would paint a perfect story of movement to give some sense of logic for Cody’s sudden disappearance. Chances were nobody would really give a fuck that Cody was missing.
But.
Killing a member of another crew. That was a big deal. Priest then thought about Bram. That moronic prospect who was nevergoing to make the cut. Instead of being told to go home, he got his head cut off by the Russians.
It felt like one war after another piled up. Including the sleeping war next to him. Eden was a war. A fight. A battle.
Priest checked the GPS and they were just a couple miles from the cabin. The last forty minutes had gone by faster than Priest realized. The next request from the GPS was a right turn, which took them from a smoothly paved road to a dirt road.
Priest took the turn slow. The SUV began to gently bounce. Eden sucked in a breath and her head popped up. She gasped and grabbed for her seat.
“We’re almost there, doll,” Priest said. “It’s still just me.”
She looked at him, terrified. Eden blinked fast, feeling a deep, searing fear that she had been kidnapped. A part of her mind unable to not explore what could have happened with Cody.
“Stay with me right here,” Priest said.
Eden took a deep breath. She looked forward. The light from the headlights bouncing off trees, the ground. Even with the high beams automatically turned on, it was still creepy to only see so much in front of her.
When the cabin came into view, Eden felt herself gently sighing. She couldn’t believe that just the night before she had gotten drunk—alone—and booked this cabin. A silly decision with implications of being alone or having Liv and Sophia join her. Right now with Priest was not on her list of uses for this cabin.
Her body ached for a variety of reasons. Her neck sore from sleeping sitting up in the passenger seat. Her lower half still feeling the effects of Priest’s powerful body. His hard thrusts. His deep thrusts.
She still couldn’t believe that…
Eden turned her head as Priest stopped the SUV.
“You okay?” Priest asked.
“Fuck,” Eden whispered. “Oh. Fuck.”
“What?”
Eden swung her right hand and slapped Priest across the face. The slap echoed inside the SUV. Eden opened the passenger door and jumped out, barefoot, hitting the ground. Rocks, pebbles, and sticks jammed into the bottoms of her feet. Priest’s eyes grew wide. A now pissed off beast, his cheek turning red.
“You’re married!” Eden cried out. “You’re fucking married! You’re married and you fucked me! You’re married and I let you fuck me! I can’t…”
Eden slammed the door and ran toward the cabin.
She fumbled for her phone to look up the information email about the cabin. There was a numeric lock on the door and she had been given her own code to get inside.
As soon as she opened the door and stepped inside, Priest caught up to her and grabbed her hair. He pulled Eden against his chest and slammed the door shut behind him. It was pitch black in the cabin and a little cool inside. Eden shivered and gasped for a breath.
“You’re begging to be tied up, doll. Fucking slapping me? Are you insane right now?”
“Do it,” Eden caught herself saying. “Tie me up, Priest. Whatever you want from me.”
Eden couldn’t believe what she just said. Fear trickled throughout her body, yet a deep sense of need was there as well. Urges she never felt before. She felt trapped yet safe. She was scared yet calm.
Priest growled and walked, dragging Eden next to him by her hair. They explored the dark cabin together, Priest finding the master bedroom, which was where he threw Eden down onto the bed.
Face down. His body pressed against hers. He grabbed her skinny right wrist and squeezed it. Hard.
“You want to take the moral high ground right now?” Priest growled. “Huh? You got everything you wanted and now you’re going to play this game? You have no fucking idea what you’re talking about, doll.”
