Priest leaned down and touched Eden’s mouth. “This is the part where you don’t ask any questions. The less you know, the better. Just in case something happens. Don’t move from this couch.”

“Where are you going?”

Priest stood up.“Going to have a chat with your ex.”

With Eden on the couch and still in a state of shock, Priest went back into the bedroom to survey the total damage done.

The bullet ended up lodged in her ex’s throat. He wasn’t sure how the hell that happened, but he didn’t care. That was one less thing to worry about. There was no big damage done to the bedroom or apartment.

As of now, nobody had heard the gunshot and called the police. Another check in the victory column.

Priest crouched down and looked at Eden’s ex.

“Cody, huh? Never could takenofor an answer and look what it got you, bud.”

Priest reached out and shut Cody’s eyes. There was plenty of evidence around the bedroom. And on Cody himself. Evidencefrom both Priest and Eden. This guy needed to disappear and for good. This wasn’t some situation of needing his teeth.

Priest thought about how to handle things. He reached forward and tugged at Cody’s dirty, bloody flannel shirt. Looking for a cellphone, needing to hand that off to Darrow so he could make up some kind of trail for Cody just in case someone actually did go looking for this guy.

When he pulled on Cody’s shirt, his head dipped down and Priest noticed some ink on the back of the dead guy’s neck. Curious, Priest wanted to see.

What he saw made him pull his hand away and stand right up. Priest rubbed his jaw and sighed. Things just took an extremely messy turn.

Cody wasn’t just some scumbag ex of Eden’s who couldn’t takenofor an answer. According to the ink on the back of Cody’s neck, he was part of a rival club.

By killing Cody, Priest may have just started a war.

Chapter Sixteen

Pack a Bag, Don’t Forget Your Shoes

Abunch of bikers suddenly showed up to Eden’s apartment. The place she called home was now swarming with men in leather cuts, dirty jeans, black boots, and the smell of whiskey, cigarette smoke, and a woman’s cheap perfume.

Eden remained huddled up on the couch in an unfair position since she was completely naked from the waist down and she still wasn’t wearing a bra.

A couple of the bikers she recognized.

Linc. Slade.

A couple she did not recognize.

Behind theSOFRAWmembers appeared Nova and Mara. Both weren’t exactly thrilled to be pulled into this particular situation, but they were both understanding and knew that when the club needed their men, it was time to fall in line.

For Eden, all she saw were two strangers approaching her. Two very pretty women. One of which was pregnant.

“This is crazy, I know,” Nova said to Eden and then she introduced herself. “And the pregnant one is Mara. You can ask her about her life if you really want to get into crazy stuff.”

“What’s so crazy about my life?” Mara asked. “I was married to a member who turned rat so I started fucking another member and he got me pregnant.”

Eden let out a nervous laugh.

“Are you naked under that blanket?” Nova asked.

“Sort of,” Eden whispered.

“Priest,” Mara said, shaking her head. “You fell for his games, huh? No judgement here. These men have a power to them. You’d think for the way they look and even smell it would make us run like hell. I think secretly all women want someone who is rough and raw.”

“Congrats on the pregnancy,” Eden said, desperate to shift the conversation, which felt impossible to do considering her dead ex was in the other room.
