She told herself she needed to go to that cabin. Even alone. All she needed to do was text Liv and Sophia the address, just in case, and then leave. Then again, knowing them—especially Liv—they would show up to the cabin anyway. Probably hoping to find Eden with some mystery man.Or to find her with Priest.

With a towel wrapped snuggly around her body, Eden opened the bathroom and stepped into her bedroom. The airwas cool, almost cold. Her blood instantly ran cold. Not from the air temperature.

Cody sat on the edge of her bed, staring right at her.

Eden stood in place in complete shock.

The bikers leave and Cody shows up. Fuck.

Her cellphone was on the nightstand to Cody’s left. She had no chance of getting it. There wasn’t a window big enough for her to escape either. Just a small, rectangular window that was thick and frosted in the shower. She used it as a shelf for her products.

Running toward the bedroom door…? No chance either.

“How did you get in here, Cody?”

“I have my ways,” he said. “Haven’t heard from you in a minute. Wanted to check up on you. See how you were doing.”

“You attacked me, Cody. You hurt me.”

“Please. I hurt you? You hurt me.” Cody pointed to his chest. “You fucking killed me.”

“So, what, you’re a ghost now?”

“Cocky little bitch. You and that fucking mouth of yours. You know what? I have something better for you to do with that mouth. Get on your knees and blow me.”

“Blow yourself,” Eden said. “Oh, wait, you can’t do that. You don’t have the size requirements for it.”

“You have an attitude,” Cody said. “Tough woman now. What the fuck are you doing messing around with bikers too? Do you have any idea who they are?”

“Do you?”

“I’m here to save you. Once and for all. Now suck my dick. I’m getting hard looking at you in a towel.”

“Then close your eyes,” Eden said. “And I am not listening to you.”

Cody’s right hand moved fast, producing a gun. Eden sucked in a breath and her heart jumped into her throat.

“Warnings are done with,” Cody said. “You are mine, Eden. You’ve always been mine. Enough playing these games. It’s not working. It’s not worth it.”

“I’d rather be dead than be with you.”

“Easily arranged.”

Cody pointed the gun at her face.

Eden started to shake. “Okay, Cody. Just… what the hell? What does this get anyone? It’s not going to work.”

“Let’s find out for sure,” he said as he stood up. “Drop the towel or I shoot you. I won’t kill you, Eden. I’ll shoot you in the foot. Or the shoulder. Somewhere that will hurt and make you listen, but you won’t die. Ready?”

“Okay!” Eden cried out.

She touched the top of the towel. Her eyes filled with tears. Obviously this would not be the first time Cody had seen her naked. There were times when they were together that the idea of a choice did not exist. But never to the extreme of being held at gunpoint.

“Move,” Cody said. “Or else I’ll rip that towel from you myself. Is that what you secretly want? Huh?”

“Stop,” Eden said.

She pulled at the top of the towel. As she opened it, she quickly turned around. The towel fell to the floor. That alone made her feel shaky and very uncomfortable.
