Page 26 of True Me

Chapter Fourteen

Eagle

SITTING IN MY office, rage fills me as I realize the assholes who work for me took complete advantage of my absence. They need to understand that I won’t always be here now. Before, I would fill my nights with watching the strippers and enjoying the show. Now, none of them compare to my girl and they never will. Rebel is precious and a true woman who will remain loyal to Cash and me. She won’t use us, manipulate us for her own gain, or anything else all these sluts and patch chasers get off on doing. She’ll open up and give us the true version of herself because we aren’t going to let her get away with hiding any longer. Cash and I want to know all of her secrets and what makes her happy. What she needs from us when she’s upset or sad. We want to be the men she needs and deserves to be at her side. We’ll do everything in our power to be there for her and give her the support she needs on a daily basis.

The monitors in my office are currently off so Hawk can reboot the system and do something to prevent Chad or whoever’s working for him from getting back in to watch Rebel when she’s here. I don’t know what the hell he plans on doing, but he knows what the hell he’s doing and I have complete faith in my brother. He’s been busting his ass for Rebel and trying to solve her problem with Chad. It’s the same as he’s done for everyone in the club. However, I know this time he’s going even harder because it’s Rebel and he sees her as a sister. One he plans on being his sister-in-law one day because he sees us going that far with her.

Taking a deep breath, I lean forward in my chair and try to focus on the never-ending paperwork I have to deal with. Right now, I have to figure out the schedule for the upcoming weeks. I always try to go a few weeks in advance so I don’t have to worry about anything and any of the girls who need to figure out child care can have their schedule in advance. I won’t ever put the employees here in a lurch as long as they’re honest and upfront with me. So, I pull up the schedule on my computer and start to go through it. The first thing I do is see how many shifts Fawn currently has. I’m about to limit her time here at work because she’s being an annoying piece of shit and has her own agenda that we’re not gonna deal with for any reason.

I take her off some of her days so she’s only working three days a week. Fawn doesn’t get to work on the weekends when those are our busiest days and she’d make more money than normal. If she wants to play the game and try to be a bitch to Rebel and shit, she’ll suffer the consequences of her actions. Starting with the number of shifts she gets each week. I can’t wait to hear what she has to say about her new hours. She’s also being taken off the best dance spot of the night. Once I do the schedule, I’ll make sure to fix the rotation of the dancers. There are more than a few dancers here who deserve to have the premium spots of the night rather than a bitch who’s deceiving us.

Working on the schedule takes me almost no time at all. I’ve gotten it down to a science now. This time I even add the extra guys to the schedule who will be here when Rebel is. Those names and Rebel’s shifts won’t be on the schedule for everyone to see. Fawn is the last person who needs to know when she’s working at Entice. She’ll only give that information to Chad and he doesn’t need to know when she’s here or what’s going on in her life. He lost that right a very long time ago. Chad is a piece of shit I want to take the fuck out and torture him as slow as possible while making him feel the most immense pain I can deliver.

Visions of what I want to do to Chad fill me as I try to keep my focus on the task in front of me. The only reason I’m in here is because my dad and Cash should be out in the main area of the club with Rebel. I had to get away from Fawn before I exploded on her. That bitch presses every single button with her bullshit and games. Every single time I see her, all I can think about are her plans to take over the club and that she’s already dealing in our club. Something every single person was warned about when they started here. The only reason she’s not already gone is because we need more information from her. Once we learn everything she knows, Fawn will be gone and we’ll no longer have to deal with her.

My phone ringing breaks me out of my head as I look at the screen to find my brother calling me.

“What’s up, Hawk?” I answer the phone, leaning back in my chair and trying to get rid of the tension filling my body.

“You can turn the monitor back on. The cameras never stopped recordin’ while I was workin’. I just needed to get in your system and couldn’t do that if you had them on. Since I was workin’ I wasn’t able to monitor them for you. Go back through the footage if you feel the need. It will all be there. How are things goin’? Dad messaged me and said you walked into a fuckin’ mess,” Hawk asks me, his voice hard at the end because he knows I don’t ever leave the club a mess and always make everyone clean the fuck up before they’re allowed to leave for the night.

“It’s fuckin’ bullshit. Rebel could hardly work behind the bar because garbage bags were left back there. The bar wasn’t stocked with anythin’. And her hand stuck to the top of the damn bar. Titan was dealin’ with an altercation last night and didn’t pay attention. So, I brought everyone in early to clean up and know they’re gonna have to start pullin’ their weight or their out the fuckin’ door. Rebel needs Cash and me and we were with her because that’s what she needed. I won’t always fuckin’ be here and everyone took advantage of Titan because this is rare for me to be gone. That’s what pisses me off the most about this shit,” I answer my brother honestly as the anger amps back up and hums through my body.

“I hear that shit. Did he say anythin’ to them?” Hawk questions me because Titan isn’t known for holding back when he’s pissed.

“No. I told him not to. Titan will have his chance to deal with the shit in time. Right now, we can’t make everythin’ too obvious because we need Fawn to think we’re still in the dark about her plans and the fact that she’s workin’ with Chad. She’s our number one priority right now because she has a tie to him no one else does. Obviously Rebel comes before everythin’, but we need Fawn to remain in the dark,” I tell him, leaning forward to flick on the monitors so I can check on Rebel. It’s been too long since I’ve had my eyes on her.

Before Hawk can respond, a knock sounds on my door and I rip my eyes off the monitor. “Come in,” I call out before letting my brother know I’ll talk to him in a little while.

Sloan walks in my office, twisting her hands together as if she’s nervous about something. She looks around the room and avoids my eyes at all costs as I let her have a minute to say what’s going on.

“Have you seen Rebel?” Sloan finally asks me, her voice shaking with how upset or nervous she is as I sit up straight in my chair and give her my full attention.

“What are you talkin’ about? She was cleanin’ out behind the bar the last I saw her. She hasn’t been in the office or anythin’ since I came in here. My dad and Cash should be out there with her. They haven’t seen her?”

“No. Your dad told me she took the garbage out but it’s been almost a half hour since she did that. Cash isn’t here. I saw him talk to her for a minute and then he took off. He hasn’t been back since then,” she answers me, her voice getting weaker the more she talks as she keeps her eyes off of me while looking around the office.

“Fuck!” I yell, pressing some buttons on my keyboard and putting my full attention on the monitors in front of me.

My eyes flit from one screen to the next as I rewind the footage back a half hour. Finally, I get to where I need to be and let the footage play. My eyes land on Rebel in the bar and I watch as she grabs a ton of garbage bags after cleaning everything. She stops to talk to Cash for a minute as Sloan said before he leaves. Rebel also talks to my dad before she makes her way through the club and toward the back door. She forces her way through the door and I switch to the outside cameras where I watch her make her way over to the dumpsters. She flings open the gate before releasing some of the bags in her hand to open the lid. Before Rebel can lift the bags in her hand again, something causes her entire body to go tense before she slowly turns around. I pan out more to find Chad standing in front of her. Rage fills me from head to toe as I vibrate in my seat.

Chad and Rebel exchange some words before the dead man walking starts to beat the fuck out of my girl. He starts by slamming the gate into her so damn hard her ankle gets lodged under the metal edge. I can see her skin split open and blood start to pool underneath her. Chad ends up straddling her before beating the absolute fuck out of her. I watch every single second she’s tortured by the stupid fuck and feel the pain I know is coursing through her body. I’ve never once experienced second-hand pain in this way but right now my body feels as if it’s on fire from the damage he’s inflicted on Rebel.

“Fuck!” I scream out, jumping out of my seat just before I watch him land two solid-looking hits to her temple that makes Rebel’s eyes roll back in her head.

Chad stands over her and says something before lifting her limp body in his arms, wrenching on her ankle as he tries to pull it from under the gate. Eventually her ankle comes free, but I have no doubt he’s just destroyed her even more with his lack of caring about her. I just don’t know how much damage he’s managed to inflict on her from this stunt.

Our girl disappears from the camera angles and I lose her. My first thought is to call Hawk and have him do his thing to find them. However, the rage filling me is too fucking much and I need to do something to expel it before I unleash it on someone who doesn’t deserve to feel my wrath.

“Sloan, you might wanna get outta here. Now!” I yell, scaring the poor girl so much she jumps and squeals before rushing out of my office and leaving the door open a little bit on her way away from me.

Using my hands, I swipe everything from my desk as it flies all over the room. I hear things shatter as the laptop flies and smashes into the wall across the room. My chair hits the wall behind me so hard it immediately leaves a hole behind as more things shatter and crash to the floor. Moving through the room, I destroy everything as a blind rage takes over and I can see nothing but the damage being done to my girl. I flip my couch over and part of it goes through the wall leaving a giant hole I can see through.

“Eagle,” I faintly hear being called even though it sounds as if all sounds are muffled under a million gallons of water. “Matt!”

Turning toward the door of my office, I spot my dad standing there with Titan at his back. The girls fill the hallway and I can’t stop the tears from spilling over as I drop to the floor in the middle of the room.

“No!” I yell, as someone surrounds me and holds me close while more footsteps sound to let me know everyone is being shoved away from my breakdown. “He fuckin’ has her!”
