All thoughts but his wicked tongue fly out the window and I’m writhing against him when the bell dings announcing our arrival.
“What?” I whisper, breaking away.
Cooper chuckles and grabs my hand pulling me out of the elevator. We’re on the roof, and a beautiful glittering pool greets us surrounded by cabanas and lounge chairs.
We walk around to a cabana near the roofline, and I gaze out over the city, once again, marveling at the scenery I’ve never seen before.
“What’s up?” Cooper murmurs, wrapping his arms around my waist.
His heat feels good against my skin, and I hide my smile as I say, “Nothing, just enjoying the view. I’ve never been here before. Well, I’ve never been anywhere really.”
“No? Never?” he rumbles, his palm sliding over my stomach.
“No,” I say, sucking in a breath when he skims my core. I can’t decide if I’m scandalized or turned on by the fact that we’re not alone.
“Why’s that Minnie?”
“Why what?” I groan.
“Why have you never been anywhere?”
Squirming, I huff out a breath when he trails his fingers over my mound and say, “Because I couldn’t afford it.”
“Hm, well I think you need to see the world,” he purrs.
“Agreed,” I moan, arching into his hands, “as soon as my sister figures out how to be an adult.”
“Yes, your sister. Lorri?”
“Mm.”
“She’s younger than you?”
“Yessss,” I say, my head falling back to his shoulder as he slides beneath my suit and glides his fingers inside. We’re facingthe wall but if anyone came back here, they’d certainly get an eye full.
Cooper doesn’t seem to mind, and I’m too caught up in the sensations to give a fuck so long as he takes me to the end.
“She’s lucky to have you, then if you’re taking care of her,” he says, and my head flies up at his solemn tone.
I can’t see his face though and when he starts pumping gently inside me, I push the thought away.
“Yeah,” I say, whimpering and bucking into his hands. I want to jump him desperately, but I have just enough presence of mind to be careful.
“What about your mom?” he rasps, his panting breaths warm against my ear.
“My mom?” I say blankly. “She’s dead.”
He pauses and I frown, arching into him again but he pulls away slightly, and my brain catches up with my mouth. Fuck me.
When I baited him into fucking me, I blamed my fictional mother. Nice.
My stomach is in my throat when he says quietly, “I thought your mom was alive?”
“Um,” I say, clearing my throat, “no, my um stepmom. You know?”
“Oh,” he says, curling back around me. “I’m sorry about your mom.”
Pulling away because not only am I lying but the topic is both painful and dark, I step up to the concrete barrier and stare over the side.
