“You need my dick, sweetheart?” he grunts.
“Yes, so good.”
“Mm, that’s right, let me give it to you. Come on my dick, fuck!”
And I do, convulsing around him as delicious tremors cascade through me. Almost immediately, he follows behind, surging deep and grunting in my ear.
We’re both breathing harshly when he collapses, his chest brushing mine. The intimacy of how he’s clutching me, causes a painful twinge in my heart.
Closing my eyes to the reality that’s barreling down on me, I will away the emotion pushing at my lids and sigh. I’ve done it again, but fuck it, I don’t regret it.
After another moment, he pulls free and steps back, covering up his package before reaching out to help me dress. I avoid his gaze because I don’t want to see what’s there. I don’t want to know, instead I focus on pulling up my bottoms with trembling fingers.
“Maeve?” he says quietly, and I look over his shoulder, staring blindly into the darkness. “If you know what’s good for you, you’ll stay away from me.”
Was this a final fuck, maybe even a fuck you?

After the inglorious brush off by Diem, I search out Harriet and it’s on the tip of my tongue to ask to leave before I bury it.
I’m not going to let him chase me away. So, we fucked, big deal.
I’m still here to have fun, dammit.
As the hours pass, I loosen up and find myself borderline drunk. Harriet giggles beside me and points to a beach house up the way.
“C’mon, party’s moving up there.”
“M’kay,” I say, following in her footsteps.
I haven’t seen Diem in hours and I’m hoping he took his crew, who showed up not long after the scene against the wall, with him.
Including Landon and Hailey because I’m truly having fun and I don’t want those assholes to ruin it.
The beach house is beautiful, and I glance around amazed at the swanky space while everyone converges around me and the music starts up.
My toes curl in the plush carpet and I run my fingers over the white suede couch until someone hands me a drink.
Behind me, Harriet grabs my hips and I laugh before stumbling and watching with wide eyes as the drink goes flying.
“Oops,” Harriet shouts in my ear and I giggle, dropping my forehead to the floor.
“Better get a towel,” she slurs.
She walks away and I sag, my world spinning around me.
“Okay, tiger, up.”
“Wha—?” I ask, glancing up. “Matt! What are you doing here?”
I smile wide and he sighs, grabbing my arm. “Finding you. Let’s go.”
“Unh,” I grunt, swaying in his arms. He pulls me up when I list to the side, and I frown because I don’t want to leave.
He’s not giving me much choice though and when he pushes me to the door, I hold out my hands.
“Maeve—“
