“What is going on here, Mercy?” Payne spoke up. “’Cause from where I’m sitting, there seems to be a fuckton more going on than we know. So please, enlighten us.”
Mercy shook his head. “I can’t. Montana swore me to silence. He wants to be the one to tell you.”
“Fuck this shit,” I scoffed, reaching into the front pocket of my jeans. Cupping my medallion, I looked around the table and smirked. “If all of you want to sit on your asses and wait around, then that’s on you. But I won’t. I have three little girls that need me more than this fucking club does. So, I’m out.”
Throwing my Soulless Sinner Medallion on the boardroom table, I looked at Mercy and said, “My ticket to freedom. Don’t come for me. Don’t look for me. Just leave me and my girls alone.”
An hour later, I pulled into Storm and Delany’s long driveway, the gravel crunching under my tires when I parked. As I sat there, my gaze fixed on the imposing size of the house, I struggled to regain my composure and fight back the turbulent emotions that threatened to overwhelm me.
It should have been a wonderful night, filled with the sound of unrestrained laughter, the warmth of shared joy, and the making of memories to cherish forever. Instead, the night devolved into a terrifying nightmare, filled with chilling sounds and horrifying images I knew would forever be etched into my memory. I fucking knew there was no way in hell Vicious would stay if Linsey survived, not when he learned what I knew.
The Soulless Sinners were exploding, and nothing, not even Reaper, could save the club now. Secrets were storming outof the clubhouse faster than Montana could contain them, and when the dust settled, there would only be one club standing, and it wouldn’t be the Soulless Sinners.
I knew that now.
Reaching for my keys, I exited my vehicle and walked toward the front door when it opened. Standing there with his arms crossed over his chest, Storm looked at me but said nothing.
“I’m here for the girls.”
“You okay?”
Shaking my head, I muttered, “No, brother. I am not.”
“Mercy called.”
“Figured he would.”
“You sure about this?”
“Don’t have a choice.”
“You always have a choice. You told me that once, remember?”
I nodded. “Yeah, I remember.”
Stepping to the side, I walked past Storm to find a heavily pregnant Delany walking toward me. Hugging the woman, I muttered, “Sorry for the late visit, Del.”
“You are always welcome, Fury. Day or night.”
Kissing the woman’s cheek, I nodded, then looked around. “Where are the girls?”
“Sleeping in Harlow’s room. Vicious was here earlier. He took the twins and Elizabeth.”
“Did he say where he was going?”
“No,” Storm replied. “He didn’t say much of anything. Just asked for his girls and left. He wasn’t wearing his cut.”
Closing my eyes, I took a deep breath before looking at my former brother. “Figured that.”
“What the hell is going on?” Storm asked.
Looking around the place, I asked, “Where are Tessa and Largo?”
“No clue. They never showed up here, only your girls and Vicious’ kids.”
“He’s dividing us.”
“Who?”
