“Everyone, take a fucking seat,” Mercy ordered, finding his chair.

“Any word on Prez?” Payne asked, just as Snoopy walked in and offered, “Thought you could use all the help you could get.”

“Thanks, man.” Mercy nodded, motioning for him to take a seat. “Really appreciate it. As for Montana, he’s still in surgery. Bane said he would call when he had news.”

The door opened, and in walked Nikandr and Dmitry, who added without pretense, “Vladmir is also still in surgery.”

“Will he live?” Mercy asked.

“He better or Maxim will kill him.” Nikandr smirked as Rico and Romeo Romano strolled in next.

“Jesus, you guys sure know how to cause a fucking scene.” Rico grinned. “Renaldo is downtown, gathering information and offering assistance. It’s a mess over there. Renaldo told us to make ourselves useful. So, what do you need from us?”

Taking a deep breath, Mercy stated, “As of right now, I’m locking down the clubhouse until we know more.”

“No,” I clearly said.

“Don’t have a choice, Fury. Until this shit clears over, we all need to stick together.”

Ignoring him, I growled, “Where are my girls?”

“They are safe.”

Slowly shaking my head, I sneered at my brother. “Won’t fucking ask you again. Where?”

Mercy relented and said, “All the kids are with Storm and Delany at their place.”

Getting to my feet, I said nothing as I headed for the door.

“Fury, you can’t leave!” Mercy shouted after me. “I need you here.”

Turning toward the man I considered a brother, I asked, “Tell me, Mercy. How long have you known?”

Confused, he asked, “Known what?”

“That I’m the grandson of Casper O’Malley and cousin to Reaper and Bullseye?”

Shocked, Rage sat up straighter and whispered, “What?”

Smirking, I nodded as I never took my eyes off Mercy. “Did you tell him? Or did you keep it to yourself? ’Cause I’d really like to know.”

Mercy slowly stood. “Chris, it’s not what you think.”

“Then tell me, Caleb, because from where I’m standing, this club has taken a page from the Golden Skulls’ handbook. How many more secrets are you keeping from us? We are your brothers. We don’t keep secrets from family!”

“Shame found the proof when he was digging into Largo’s past. He brought it to me. I had every intention of giving it to you, but shit got in the way, and I forgot.”

“You forgot!” I shouted, slamming my hands down on the table. “You are the fucking vice president of the biggest motorcycle club in the world. You forget nothing, Mercy! Speaking of Shame. Why didn’t this club investigate him after he died?”

“We had other things that mattered more.”

“More than our dead brother?”

“It wasn’t like that.” He sighed. “Montana didn’t feel it warranted further investigation.”

“HE WAS OUR BROTHER!”
