He woke up from a nap and offered to make me food right away. Fuck, that’s actually so hot.
I grab the blanket Quin left out here on the couch last night and curl up in it. It smells just like him. I bury my nose in the soft fabric and breathe in deeply. Heavenly. I flick the TV on and leave it on the last channel it was set to and close my eyes.
I could fall asleep right now.
I must doze off, because Lachlan wakes me up with a warm, gentle hand on my shoulder.
“Foods ready, Harlow. I also brought you a water and some chips.” Lachlan takes a seat beside me and helps me sit up comfortably, handing me a plate of food.
“Thank you so much,” I murmur, tears actually filling my eyes. First I get gifts from Cae, now Lachlan is making me food? Fuck, I don’t know how much more of this I can take.
“Of course, Omega.” He sits beside me quietly as I eat my meal, and as soon as I’m done, I head to the kitchen to clean up.
It only seems fair to clean up, since he cooked.
“I can do that, Harlow.”
“I know.” I shrug. “You made me food, and I really appreciate it. I thought this was only fair.”
“Quin gave you some chocolates this morning?” Lachlan asks as he helps me clean up.
“He did. Said you recommended them.”
“I did.” I glance back at him, and he’s smirking like he’s so proud of himself.
“How nice of you.” I glare at him.
“Truth or dare?” he asks, and I turn off the water, facing him. “You should practice.” He shrugs, and I snort a laugh.
“Truth.”
“Boo, boring.”
“Shut up and give me my truth.”
“Why are you a virgin?” He dries his hands and turns to me, crossing his arms over his chest as I plant my ass on the edge of the counter, and he leans back against the sink.
“Well, in high school Cae started a rumor that I was obsessed with him and stalking him, so no one wanted to fuck the crazy Omega. Then after I graduated, I just didn’t feel like dealing with Alphas.” I shrug. It’s half true.
“Bullshit.”
“Whatever. The game is truth or dare, not bullshit. Your turn. Truth, or dare?”
“Dare.” He watches me intently, and I have to think for a moment before I come up with anything.
“I dare you…to…” I squint at him. “Kiss me. On top of being a virgin, I’ve never kissed anyone before.”
“Never?” His eyes are wide as he pushes away from the counter and steps toward me. I shake my head.
“Nope. Alphas have tried, but I was scared I’d suck, and they’d know it was my first time.” I shrug like it’s no big deal, even though it’s a huge deal. Kissing my roommate is not the best idea. But what could go wrong? He’s in a pack, and said he and Quin are okay with stuff like this. Besides, maybe this will be the thing that finally gets these men to realize I shouldn’t live here.
“Alright, Harlow. I’ll kiss you.” Lachlan steps up to me, and I spread my legs to accommodate his waist between them. I’m entranced by the look in his eyes, as he slowly and gently pushes his fingers into my hair. His other hand rests on my hip, his fingers digging in just a little.
Lachlan leans in, his eyes on mine, and as they fall shut, I close mine too. I wait for his lips to meet mine, and when theydo, it feels different than I imagined. They’re soft and warm. Slightly wet because he licked them just before kissing me.
He goes slow, and when his lips part, I open for him. His tongue is soft against mine, and when he sucks my lip in between his teeth and bites gently, I gasp. The soft feel of his beard against my face has me reaching up to cup his jaw. His hold on me tightens, and he pulls me against him. I can’t hold in the little whimpers that slip free. He feels so good…
“Damn,” Lachlan leans back, and for the first time, the smile he gives me doesn’t feel forced.
