Epilogue
One year Later
Harlow
“Milo!” I growl, hands propped on my hips, tapping the toe of my shoe on the hardwood. “We have talked about this.” I fix him with my meanest glare. Which admittedly isn't very mean at all.
I've got a soft spot for the feline, and he knows it.
The six-month-old orange tabby is my favorite creature alive. The only problem is that he's not allowed on the counters, something he does not care about whatsoever.
Two weeks ago, the guys took me to a cat café, where I fell in love with Milo instantly. Quin and I had been wanting to check out the place since it opened. When we found out that he was available for adoption, I made grabby hands and begged the Alphas. Suckers.
Since the four of us have alternating schedules, he's never home alone for long, if at all.
Over the last year, I've been spending my time alternating between helping Lachlan promote and sell his art and makingart of my own. He’s helped me so much, and we’ve made a few more canvases since our first masterpiece.
Of course, I still volunteer at the community center teaching art over the weekends whenever I can.
Caelum is working a more reasonable schedule, and they hired Quin as a chef in the same restaurant. They’re both so much happier, especially Quin. His instincts aren’t as wonky as they used to be, something he reminds me of often. He thinks I’m the reason they’re easier for him to manage.
I think the pack bond strengthening is the reason his instincts are more manageable.
About four days after our heats ended, Caelum and I called our mothers and agreed to meet them for a family dinner.
They both apologized profusely and begged Quin for forgiveness.
I would have worried they only planned it because I bonded into the pack, but they left the messages on our phones asking for forgiveness long before they learned we’d bonded.
Quin’s relationship with them has turned into something that gives him more peace and the support he needed as an Omega, that his Alpha family never offered him.
They are proud cat grandparents now, and it’s hilarious to see them both fuss over Milo.
We moved about three months after I bonded into the pack, and even though we live closer to our parents, the mothers do not have access to the house keys, unless one of the dads approves first.
Our new home is large enough to accommodate a growing pack, even though we of course share the master bedroom. The gourmet kitchen is perfect for our resident chefs, while Lach and I have a creative space to turn loose. The backyard was the real selling point, with plenty of privacy and a pool.
“Are you sure the tin foil wouldn’t work…” Cae grumbles, when he sees the cat up on the counter again.
I shake my head.
“No. I don’t want to scare him!” I shake my head at the Alpha.
Quin walks in from down the hall, and wraps his arms around my waist, pulling me against his body.
“He’ll learn eventually. Are you ready for our Valentine’s date, Omega?” Quin murmurs, kissing my neck where our pack leader's mark sits. His approval in the bond has us both needy.
“Of course.” I smile over my shoulder at my mate and turn to Lachlan as he walks in through the garage door, carrying a large bundle of red roses and tulips.
“Happy Valentine's Day, mates!”
“Happy Valentine’s Day!” I jump into Quin’s arms first, kissing all over his handsome face, and he carries me toward Cae until I’m pressed tightly between them. “I love you.” I purr, nibbling my Omega’s neck.
“I love you too, Harlow.” Quin growls, as Cae starts removing my clothes.
“Woah, wait for me!” Lachlan says frantically as he places everything he had in his arms on the counter.
“Wait, not in front of the cat!” I yelp. “Take me to bed, Alpha.” I whisper, as Cae steals me from Quin’s arms.
“Anything for you, mate.” Cae tosses me over his shoulder, and carries me down the hall, Lachlan close behind us, with a hungry look in his eyes.
“I fucking love you, Harlow.” Lach says, as he wraps his arm around Quin’s waist, keeping the Omega close.
“I love you too.” When we make it to our nest, Cae places me on my feet, and I look up at my Alpha. “I love you, Cae.”
“I love you too, Fireball. Happy Valentine’s Day, my naughty little Valentine.”
