“You lost your sister to a Valerian.” At my statement everyone grows silent, I lift my head to meet Alexander’s murderous scowl.

“Tread fucking carefully,” he warns as the three that have been hiding in shadows suddenly move until they flank their blood crazy boss.

“Are you really going to force us to watch as a Valerian takes someone we love from us? She is Vox’s sister, his fucking twin. Will you really make him suffer the same fate as you?” I’m begging him right now and I couldn’t give two fucks about it. If I have to get on my fucking knees and beg harder I will if it means I can get to my girl and save her.

Alexander just stands there staring at me with a blank look. “Please.” I swing my gaze to Vox, shocked he even knows that fucking word. “She’s my little sister. I know I have done a shitty job at trying to keep her safe and away from all of this but I can’t lose her. My girl is with her. I love them both and I won’t fucking survive losing either of them.”

“She made her terms clear,” he claps back.

“Fuck her terms,” Archer shouts. “I’m telling you to change those terms and let us go. If I have to shoot my way out of here, then so be it, but I’m not going down without fighting.”

“Have any of you bothered to stop and actually fucking think!” one of the hooded cunts behind him says.

“Vatican,” Alex warns.

“No. They want to play fucking hero then let them but this will never work for you miserable pieces of shit unless you let it play out the way she wants. Unlike you fuckers, she hasn’t let her emotions cloud her judgment. She isn’t going into this blind, nor is her friend. They both know what is about to happen and are ready, you go to them now and you will ruin everything Vivian has set into motion.”

“What exactly has she set into motion?” Hayze fires back.

“Nice try,” one of the other fucking hooded cunts says. I’m starting to understand why people hated our masks so much, its fucking frustrating arguing with someone you can’t fucking see.

“Stay a while and observe, you might even learn something,” Alexander says. “He won’t make a move tonight, she switched locations and he needs time to find her.”

“If you’re tracking him, why not just take the cunt out?” Vox asks.

“We’re tracking his associates, not him. That gutless bastard is smarter than we gave him credit for. But, we know he is working with high ranking members in The Brotherhood and they are the ones who are helping him, aren’t they?” Omen snarls as he yanks one of the guys who is chained up by his hair.

“Yes!” the guy cries out.

“Believe it or not, Vox,” Alex says, drawing Vox’s attention to him and this time I do see a flicker of emotion on the fuckers face. “I wouldn’t want anyone to suffer the loss of a sibling. Your sister will make it out of thisalive, I will make sure of that. You have my word.” Call me fucking deluded but I actually believe the fucker and judging by the look on Vox’s face, he does as well.

Chapter Twenty-Nine

Vivian

For two days Nova and I have stayed holed up in this house. The constant fear and the worry that at any moment Thomas will show his face has us on edge. I heard from Alex that he has the guys. Nova was pissed when I told her about that but she understands and knows it's safer for them to be away from this. We have no idea who Thomas is working with or how many men he has on his side. Alex has been helping us and keeping track of the men we know are aiding Thomas. So far the man himself hasn’t shown his face or even sent a letter, but I can feel it in my gut that he knows exactly where I am.

Why is he waiting?

“Answer me this.” I turn away from the window to look at Nova who is laying on the couch.

“What?”

“The deal you made, why not just give them all up now?”

“Because they want Thomas. He is the ring leader and without him the deals I made mean nothing.” Those fuckers are slimy and the fact they can’t just be happy that I handed them myself and a secret society filled with smugglers, dirty feds, crooked politicians, embezzlers and murderers is fucking bullshit. They want the head of the snake. I get that, I do, but they also think they are going to get the assets that the Saints have amassed over the years. They are in for a rude surprise when it comes time for that. David knows when to funnel the final amounts out of the accounts and there is no way they will be able to trace it back to us or anyone else. They will be searching for that pot of gold for years without finding it.

“Fucking greedy assholes.” I hum my agreement. “What if it isn’t Thomas doing this?” That question has been plaguing me daily.

“I can’t explain it but I just have this feeling in my gut that it's him. I know it sounds crazy?—”

“No, it doesn’t.” She sits up and faces me with a somber look. “I get it because I feel the same way. I just hate not being a hundred percent sure, ya know?” I nod. I know she has compartmentalized her grief and is clinging onto her anger and the need for vengeance against Thomas, but she will have to deal with that grief sooner rather than later or it will eat her alive.

“Tatum has arrived,” David calls out. He’s been here every day with us and honestly I am grateful as fuck for him. He doesn’t need to be here but he doesn’t want to leave us alone too much.

“Bring her in,” I call out. I haven’t been able to catch up with Tate since the guys barged into Lividica and put my two doormen in the hospital. They will fucking pay for that. Tate saunters into the room looking angry at the world. Nova looks tome in question, I shrug my shoulders unsure why Tate is in such a terrible mood. Tate flops down onto the sofa unceremoniously and sighs. “Make yourself at home,” I tease.

She rolls her head to the side and looks at me, fuck she looks so much younger in the light of day. What lotion does she use? “I never should have tried to find my family. If I’m here because you are going to fire me then please don’t, I swear I won’t get distracted at work again. I need this job, Vivian?—”
