I double down, sucking him even deeper as he spills all over my tongue. The way he tenderly palms my head makes me all warm and fuzzy. His crown bounces against the back of my throat, and I choke a little.

“Fuck, Briar…” He grunts, running his fingers through my hair. It’s a very tender moment, so I keep him in my mouth. I have no idea why, but it soothes my instincts. “Did you want to come up here? The movie is still playing…”

“Nuh-uh,” I mumble around him. “This is nice.”

“Um, yeah.” He brings his other hand down and teases my cheek. “I mean, if you’re comfortable, I’m good.”

I move my hand to cup his lower back and snuggle closer to his thighs. The holiday movie plays in the background, and I soak up all of his delicious pheromones and the warmth of his skin against mine.

Chapter Eighteen

Easton

“I’m fucking beat,” Keir grumbles, walking in the back door as we finally make it home. It’s the middle of the night, but we have to get everything packed to leave for Virginia.

“I am as well. Let’s hope Calder got some sleep, so he can take the first driving shift,” I say, heading toward the backstairs. “Pack your shit. We’re leaving in an hour.”

“I have to pack Briar’s bags too,” Keir says from behind me.

“I’ll get Briar in the vehicle.” I snort, swiping my hand over my face. I’m obviously exhausted from the longest day I’ve had in a long fucking time.

“Don’t forget Calder,” he calls after me.

Yeah, we all have to get the fuck out of here quickly to ensure that, if someone notices Jameson went missing, it’s clear we weren’t even in the state when that occurred.

I contemplated sending him on an out-of-country mission where he would have met his demise, but that would look strange the day after he ended up in the ER with a broken arm. No, it was much better to plant a false trail of Jameson being in deep with some bad folks.

If one of the half-rate criminals Calder spent the afternoon linking him to goes down for the crime…

Well, that really just counts as a two-birds-one-stone situation, and I won’t miss a wink of sleep.

We did a full strip in the warehouse to ensure any remaining DNA would be destroyed with our clothing. Calder and Briar missed out on that lovely experience since they didn’t physically touch Jameson. I had a quick sanitation shower there, but I peel out of the generic clothes I changed into at the warehouse and enjoy a full shower with actual decent-smelling bodywash.

Once I’m done, I pack my bags and tote them down to the SUV. After that, I go searching for Briar. She didn’t seem afraid of me when she sat with me in my office, but it’s also possible she was in shock.

Only, the little omega is not in her room. Nor is she in Keir’s. He spots me with my chest heaving in his doorway and takes off after me as I aim for Calder’s room.

I swear to fuck…

She better not have disappeared on his watch, or I will eviscerate him. My forearm slams against his door with so much force that it bounces against the wall.

Calder’s shirtless form pushes up using his forearms, and he twists, grabbing for the gun in the nightstand drawer.

“Where the fuck is she?” I hiss, jabbing a finger at his chest.

His posture goes from rigid to relaxed to rigid again.

“Sleeping,” he says in barely more than a whisper.

I check again, but there’s no one lying next to him on the pillows. Although, there is a weird bulge under the blanket.

I stride across the room, slapping Keir’s hands away as he finally catches up. Snatching the comforter back, I tilt my head.

First of all, I found Briar.

Second of all, I don’t know what to make of the scene I come across.

Keir comes to a stop at my side and softly chuckles. She is in his shirt, after all, but she’s also got Calder’s dick in her mouth. I had plans to give her sleepy kisses as I woke her up to inform her we’re going on an adventure to Virginia to pick up dirt on her corrupt-as-fuck brother.
