Garrett got her attention before she could comprehend what Trey had just asked.
“We want to have a relationship with you.”
“A … a sexual one?” she asked.
Garrett nodded. “Yes. It will be like any other relationship, except you have two men instead of one. We’ll all live together here until we’re ready to retire. When we decide, our nephew will take over for the family.”
“I don’t know if I could handle one of you, much less both. You have to consider that my late husband and I didn’t have a normal marriage. We weren’t even friends, and he didn’t like spending time with us, especially me. I think he spent more time with his mother in her wing of the house than us.”
She could tell that surprised the men, but they needed to know how inexperienced she was. Not just with sex but with having a normal relationship.
“That’s okay, Baby. We’ll take everything slow,” Trey said.
“Where would I stay?”
Trey squeezed her thigh. “In our room with us.”
“Aren’t we going a little fast?” she asked.
Garrett shook his head. “No. We want you to get to knowus well before your vacation is finished.”
“When would I have to move in with you?”
“I’d say tonight,” Garrett said.
Trey cleared his throat and scowled at his brother. “But we’ll give you time if you need it.”
Madelyn looked at one and then the other. God, what should she do? The thought of being with them all the time both thrilled and terrified her. What if she disappointed them?
“Is there any way we can learn more about each other without living together right now?” she asked.
Trey nodded, but Garrett scowled. Trey must have given him a look over her head because Garrett settled down.
“We can do whatever makes you comfortable. Can we be in a relationship right now even if you don’t want to live together?” Trey asked.
“Yes. I might make a lot of mistakes,” she told them.
Trey nodded. “We all will. It’s part of getting to know each other. All we need to do is talk it over. We can fix anything if we know what we’re up against.”
She exhaled. “Then yes. I’d like a relationship with you both. Let’s put off me moving right now.”
“That’s fine,” Garrett said, but it sounded more like a growl.
She smiled at him. “Thank you for being so understanding.” Although she kept the sarcasm out of her tone, there was still a playful edge to it.
His eyes narrowed. “Are you poking at me, Baby?”
She tapped her chest with her fingertips. “Who, me?”
Garrett nodded.
Trey snickered behind her, which made it even harder to keep from laughing.
Garrett looked at his brother. “Dude, am I wrong, or is our woman being sassy?”
Trey wiped his mouth. “Oh, well, um…”
“Say it,” Garrett barked.
