“Class?” I tilted my head, trying to figure out what context she might mean the human idiom.

“What’s on your mind, Levi?”

I brought her hand up to my mouth, brushing my lips across her knuckles. “I was thinking about our kiss last night.”

The tinge of pink that colors her cheeks is adorable, and sexy as hell. “I’m sorry. I don’t really know what got into me.” She bit her lower lip, chewing on it slightly. “It felt like you were into it, and it certainly helped sell the story when Viktor took notice of us.”

I frowned. “Was that all it was to you, then? A way to hide from the vampire?”

Her cheeks grew even more pink, and she barely shook her head from side to side. “Honestly, I didn’t see him or his victim, until…” She turned and looked out the window, like she was embarrassed.

Or maybe she wanted more and wasn’t sure how to admit it.

“I’m not sorry it happened.” I reached over with my free hand, cupping her chin in my palm and shifting her gaze back to meet mine. “I was about to leave the club when I saw you walk in, in that dusky pink dress and those boots that made your legs look about a mile long. If you hadn’t noticed me at the bar, I wouldn’t have lasted much longer on that stool before I headed to the dance floor.” I leaned closer, ignoring the fact that we weren’t alone, that the cabbie could see everything if he looked in his rearview. “I wanted to know what your thick, full ass would’ve felt like, pressed against my dick.”

The soft moan that slipped from between her parted lips went straight to my cock, and I couldn’t help but wonder, if I pulled down those stretchy black pants she wore, if I’d find her wet. “Levi, you can’t talk to me like that…” Her protest came out soft and husky, like her body didn’t believe the words she was saying any more than I did.

The cab driver pulled over, and I grabbed cash out of my wallet without really looking at the meter, handing it over in a hurry before I tugged her out of the taxi.

He pulled out into traffic again quickly, and even though we were hardly alone, on a public street outside of Central Park, I couldn’t help but pull her flush against me, so that I could feel the heavy, fast rise and fall of her chest against mine.

She looked up at me, chewing on her lip like she wanted something more in her mouth. “What are you doing?”

I smirked as I leaned down, closer to those tempting lips. “Proving my point. You can deny it if you want to, but your heart is racing, your cheeks are flushed, and I’d be willing to bet that if I cupped your pussy right now, you’d be sopping wet in your panties.” I knew I was pushing my luck, pushing her, maybe beyond what she was okay with, but I couldn’t help but add in a deep growl, “If you’re even wearing any.”

Izobelle’s green eyes were cloudy with lust, and I could’ve sworn she moved in even closer against me. “Even if I am wet, even if I do want to taste your lips again, I’m not about to let you fuck me in Central Park. And I’m not going to give up on hunting vampires, so if that’s your angle, I can just catch the next cab back to my apartment.”

Rather than argue with her, I pressed my lips to hers, claiming her mouth like I’d wanted to since the moment I saw her sitting in that coffee shop. My fingers gripped the hair at the base of her neck, holding her where I wanted her, kissing her like I wanted to make all of her mine.

Like I wanted to make her break whatever rules she’d set for herself and take all of her.

As Izobelle pulled back, her cheeks were flushed, and the pink color traveled all the way under the collar of her shirt, making me wonder how far down the blush went, if her breasts were that rosy color.

Fucking hells, this was a bad idea. There was no way I was going to be able to walk anywhere around here with the rock-hard cock in my jeans.

And the little minx knew it, too. “You going to be okay, Mr. Blue Jeans?”

I smirked at her. “If I’m not, are you going to do anything about it?”

Izobelle rolled her eyes and shook her head. “If I have to be uncomfortable, so do you.” She flicked her eyes down, barely a glance, but the groan that escaped from her lips was entirely too sexy.

“Why don’t we find a bench in the shade? Preferably one close to here.” I pulled her close again, needing to touch her, needing to keep her near me.

Fucking hells, if this was how Ash and Henrik felt when they found humans to mate, I was in deep already.

Izobelle raised an eyebrow at me. “Not in the mood to walk around anymore?”

I shook my head. “If I thought you’d let me, I’d take you back to my place and do something with a hell of a lot more cardio.” With a smirk, I gestured at one of the horse-drawn carriage. “We could ride around in one of those instead, if you wanted.”

“That’s completely touristy, Levi.” Izobelle grinned. “Is that the kind of guy you are?”

Leaning down again, I brushed my lips against her earlobe and growled. “I’m the kind of guy who would make you come so hard you’d see stars. I’m the kind of guy who would eat you out until your thighs shake and your whole body aches for release.” I kissed her neck, just above her scar. “I’m the kind of guy who wants to do whatever it takes to make you smile, to make you keep letting me kiss you.”

She stepped back, staring at me with these wide eyes that were filled with what seemed to be a combination of awe and nervousness. “Who are you? Really?”

My brow furrowed and I tugged her toward one of the carriages. “I don’t understand the question.”

Izobelle climbed up into the cart and settled back into the seat before she looked up at me again. “You’re not like any guy I’ve ever known. I’m not just talking about the fact that you look at me, at all of me, like I’m the sexiest woman you’ve ever seen. You talk to me like…I don’t know, like a guy who knows exactly what he wants and who will stop at nothing to get it. You talk to me like you’re invincible, like nothing can hurt you. And you know about vampires, you believe that I was bit? It doesn’t make sense. You don’t make sense.”
