Page 80 of Dragon Exposed

Holy shit. If my panties weren’t already going to be soaked all night, just knowing he was mine, this choice of outfit would put it over the top, for sure.

“Where are we getting masks?”

I shrugged. “My understanding is that they have them available at the door.”

Levi dropped his jeans, and for a moment, my brain kind of short-circuited, the same way it always seemed to do when he got naked. “We can do better than that.” He grinned, watching me as he changed, sending naughty thoughts into my head, making me consider whether I really wanted to do this, or if I wanted to just tackle him and get that huge cock inside me again.

Before I really made up my mind, he finished dressing and gestured at me. “Should I braid your hair, mate?”

“If you don’t mind.” I bit my lip as he pointed at the foot of the bed. “I know dancing with you is just going to make me sweat.” And completely wet for him.

But that was beside the point.

His fingers worked deftly, twisting and plaiting my hair into an elaborate up-do that looked too perfect to be real.

Then, I watched him stand in front of the bathroom mirror and add trios of braids along his temples before he pulled the rest of his hair back into a black leather string, tying it into a low ponytail.

There wasn’t anything overtly dragon about the way he looked, but Levi exuded a raw male energy, a primal aura that insinuated the beast within, even when he wasn’t trying.

Tonight, though, with the dark glint in his green eyes, the barbaric way he looked like he wanted to grab me and fuck me against the wall, I wasn’t nearly done with him.

We were absolutely coming back here, and I wasn’t at all opposed to the idea of him bending me over and ripping these panties off.

Maybe with his teeth.

Fuck me, I doubted we’d even make it back here before that happened.

Levi wrapped his arm around my waist and leaned in for a soft kiss. Not enough to transfer any lipstick over, and not nearly enough to soothe the ache in my core.

“Let’s get out of here, before I change my mind about letting you out of this room dressed like that.” He added as he opened the door,I’d much rather keep you bare.

Instead of calling for one of the town cars that had been shuttling us all over the city the past week, he headed for the hotel’s garage.

“You’re driving?” I had almost forgotten that we’d left his SUV here, that we had transportation that we didn’t have to hire. Between it being New York and the fact that he had no qualms about throwing money at things, the car had fallen completely off my radar.

“I want us to be able to make a fast getaway, if something happens here with Syrena and Nina, or if I just need to get you out of there in a hurry.” He leaned in for another kiss, his fingers sliding around the back of my neck, just barely shy of the intricate braids, as if he was a breath away from losing his control and completely ruffling me. “Plus, all of my cars are set up to be more durable and armored. In case we need to use it to fight our way out.”

I bit my lip, watching as he unlocked the car and did a cursory look over the SUV. What he was looking for, I didn’t know, but he seemed satisfied that we were safe, and he helped me up into the bucket seat.

There was no ignoring the way his eyes lingered on my bare thighs, or the way he licked his lips as I got situated.

“Do we have weapons? Do we need them?” I still wasn’t entirely confident in using my claws or my supernatural strength. Even though I knew a wooden stake wasn’t going to finish the job, it would’ve made me feel better to have a few on hand.

“I keep a panel in the back hatch. We’ll pull out a few that we can carry discreetly, but mostly, I’m counting on you, on your dragon, to be able to defend yourself.” He shrugged, leaning forward and pressing a cheeky kiss to my inner knee. “I’ve seen your dragon in action. She’s a fierce opponent for any vampire who even dares to look at you wrong.”

I wasn’t so sure about that, and I really wasn’t sure I wanted to risk fully shifting, but he looked so confident, so sure, I didn’t want to argue. Instead, I asked, “And where are we getting masks?”

“I know a shop.” He grinned and closed my door before hurrying around the front of the car and climbing into the driver’s seat. “We might also pick up a couple other things while we’re there. How do you feel about wings?”

Wings? What the hell kind of shop were we going to? And why on earth did he think we needed more costuming than just masks?

Rather than questioning out loud, or trusting that he could hear my inner thoughts, I just settled in for the drive, reaching over to hold his hand as soon as the car was in gear. He hadn’t ever disappointed me with a plan before, and he seemed to have more contacts, more connection, than I could’ve, so I trusted his judgment, wherever he wanted us to go.

With as much as I craved his touch, it wasn’t any wonder that at least two of the women I’d met at his cabin were already pregnant.

Could I already be too? Would I even know yet?

Can Levi tell if I’m pregnant, even without a test?
