Page 20 of Her Two Dragons

At least it looked like it was mostly fear.

She kicked with her free foot as hard as she could, slamming her heel into his nose with as much ferocity as she could.

He snarled as he reeled back, blood spurting from his face like she’d just turned on a faucet. “You bitch.”

She hardly heard him as she crawled away. Darius and Khalid could do what they wanted with that asshole, as long as they all came out of it alive.

His screams echoed around her as she stumble-ran over the sand, getting as far from her abductor as she could.

It seemed never-ending.

When he finally stopped, the silence settled in like a blanket.

Michelle? Did he hurt you?The concern in Darius’s voice was potent, seeping into her and filling her with a sense of belonging, of love, that she hadn’t ever felt before.

“I’m okay. Please come find me.” She didn’t know how their voices were in her head, or whether they would hear her, but as the sun started to rise on the horizon, she sunk down into the sand, fighting tears.

The whole night, she’d been ready to die, and now that the threat was gone, she didn’t know what to do, how to react.

One dragon, then the other, dropped down in front of her, and in a blink, they went from giant blue and gold monsters, into the men she’d come to rely on. The men she’d come to trust.

“What the hell is going on?” Tears made her voice hitch in her throat as she fell into both of their arms. The fact that both men were completely naked should’ve interested her more than it did just then. She could hardly focus on anything other than the fact that she’d almost just died, at the hands of a dragon.

“We’ll explain everything, but right now, we have to get you out of the desert.” Darius held out his hand, helping her to her feet. “Do you trust me?”

Michelle nodded slowly. “Should I?”

“We won’t hurt you.” Khalid slid his arms around her waist, kissing her neck from behind. “You will always be safe with us.”

She looked between the two men, her heart in her chest. “Both of you? That guy…he said I was your mate? That you’re a prince?”

Darius nodded slightly, his eyes on hers. “Does that change things for you? My father won’t stop with sending only Cedric after us. I’m afraid he’s only one of many who would be blindly loyal.” He reached out and cupped her cheek. “Especially if we keep looking into the ruins you opened up.”

Michelle chewed her lower lip. “Is there anything to be done? Any way to keep me safe? To keep you both safe?”

“We could claim you. It won’t stop them, but it may grant you a dragon of your own.” Darius’s face turned stony. “But either way, we won’t let anyone get to you.”

Khalid’s hands slid down lower, over her hips. “We need to get somewhere safe before the sun gets too high and we have to hunker down out here until nightfall. I refuse to let all of Michelle’s beautiful skin burn.”

Darius nodded and stepped a few feet away. Khalid did the same, in the opposite direction, and Michelle couldn’t decide which one to look at.

They were both gorgeous. Muscular, tattooed, tan, strong. She wanted to rub up against them both, give into the ache that had settled low in her belly and refused to leave. She wanted them both pressed against her again, without the barrier of her clothing between them.

“Keep those thoughts, you tempting minx.” Khalid’s eyebrow raised as he smirked at her. “As soon as we’re inside, we can act out whatever naughty fantasies you have.”

She shivered as both men shifted before her eyes. Their dragons were different, unique even, as the gold patterning danced through their scales like a tiger’s stripes. Or tattoos.

It was insane to her that not even twenty-four hours before, she’d let Darius feast on her pussy. That she’d still believed them both to be just men.

But it was even crazier to her that all she wanted, what she seemed to crave, was both of them.

Which one of us do you want to carry you? Darius’s voice sounded hopeful in her head.

She sighed. “I don’t want to choose.” Even though it was a response to her question, it felt like it meant so much more.

We’re not asking you to. Fate has brought you to both of us, Michelle, and I wouldn’t want to taunt the fates.

Looking at both dragons, she bit her lower lip. With so much at stake, it was difficult to be calm about everything they were talking about, everything she was seeing, and yet, she knew what she wanted. “Take me somewhere safe. Claim me.”
