“Q, hang on,” Henrik grunted. “I’m going to get you out of here.”
That was the last thing she heard before everything went dark.

The Help
By the time Henrik was able to get Q to the safe house, he was running through all the scenarios in his head of what had just gone on back there. Cillian had called and said he got away with the girls. The vampires who would’ve been witnesses were dead.
They still had two hours to get back to the Crimson Club. He needed to get Q up and limping so they could show up with their five women that they still had to obtain. Henrik didn’t have time to check and make sure the safe house was secure. He needed to get Q somewhere he could check the guy out. The last thing he wanted was for James’s friend to die on his watch.
He was still confused why the vampire kept calling Q “she”. Was Q a woman?
He lifted Q out of the passenger side car and Cillian came out just as he approached the backdoor.
“What the fuck happened?” Cillian barked.
“It doesn’t matter. The vampires are dead, assuming that there weren’t more there, which there may have been. We should’ve done more recon before we went in.”
Cillian shook his head. “We did the best we could. Everyone is out and safe.”
“Everyone but Q. Why the hell did he come back for me?”
“You’ll have to ask him. I told him to stay with the women.”
Q groaned, “I can hear you, assholes.”
Cillian sighed. “Thank fuck.”
“The fucking vampire drained him.”
“I need a transfusion,” Q muttered. “If someone here is A positive or O negative, and we happen to have supplies, I can do it.”
“I’m A positive,” Letty said.
Cillian raked his hands through his hair. “We set up a bunch of medical supplies in case any of the women were in severe condition. I’ll get it.”
“How do you know how to do a transfusion?” Henrik asked as he laid him down on the couch.
Q reached over and pulled the ring on his middle finger off. There was a shimmer as magic dissipated over his entire form, revealing…
“Quinn? What the actual fuck?!”
Quinn managed a weak smile. “Surprise.”
Cillian came back with the supplies and set them up on the coffee table next to the couch. “Well, hello, lovely. I was wondering if you were going to show yourself again.”
Quinn waved a little and cringed from the movement.
“Quinn,” Henrik breathed.
“I know. I know. You’re pissed at me. Too bad, dragon breath. I did what I had to and now we’re all safe.”
Henrik snarled. He didn’t like this one bit. He kept staring at her, because he couldn’t believe he’d been so stupid to not realize that the woman he’d been in bed with and wrapped around was the same guy who was best friends with James.
He’d watched the vampire crushing the life out her. He hadn’t wanted Q to get hurt and now that he knew it had been Quinn, his entire body ached with the knowledge and his dragon was pissed off. The urge to carry her far away and hide her in a cave where no one would ever find them was incredibly strong.
Quinn sat up and tried to stick herself with the needle.
