“Well yeah. You have all this power and magic and you’re just going to destroy and remake the world in your own image?”

“I guess so.”

Quinn jerked against Drake’s hold on her. “You forgot one thing.”

“Yeah, what’s that?”

“We stopped Hitler.”

Grey moved so fast she didn’t even see his hand before he grabbed her neck. He lifted her head up and over, exposing her throat to him. “Try and stop me now.” He leaned toward her, muttered a word, and bit into her.

Fire burst through her body like someone put a match to her blood stream. Her body seized and she could hear screaming. Smoke blinded her and burned her eyes. Intense pressure filled her body. Her nipples tightened around her nipple rings. It hurt, her teeth ached like she wanted to bite something, like there was a creature deep inside of her trying to wake up.

The flames coursed through her body. She writhed on the floor trying to do anything but allow whatever was happening to her to happen.

She didn’t know how long she laid there, but slowly she sank back down into her body. She was stiff and sore. Her eyes fluttered open and she was lying on the floor looking up. Grey and Tabitha were both watching.

“How do you feel?” Grey asked.

“Fucking terrible. What the hell did you do to me?”

“Stand up,” Grey commanded.

“Give me a fucking second.”

Grey’s mouth tightened. “Stand up.” His voice was louder and more demanding.

She shot him a glare.

Grey growled. “Fucking heartstones. I don’t know where you’ve got it on your whore body but make no mistake. I will rip it off you eventually. In the meantime, we’ll go with plan B.”

Quinn pushed herself into a sitting position. “Plan B?”

“Erica, come here.”

One of the women Grey infected stepped forward. “Come put this ring on.”

Quinn recognized the ring immediately. It was the one James gave her with the male vampire glamour.

“How did you get that?”

Grey held up the ring between them. “How do you think I knew you had the Fire Stone? Lady Wyxl gave up the Fire Stone and your ring.”

Erica slipped the ring on her finger.

Quinn gasped.

“Did you know that a witch can reverse the magic? You’ve worn the ring enough times it had an imprint of you on it. Tabitha was able to reverse the magic so whoever wore it looked like you.”

“No.”

“Oh yes. Even if I can’t send you directly, I’m still sending you to kill your Henrik. She’s going to burn him until there is nothing left but a scorch mark on the earth.”

Erica nodded and left to do her job.

Quinn watched in horror as she watched herself leave, intent on destroying her mate.

“You can’t do this.”
