Arthur took a seat at the table. “I was told to come see you.”

Lady Wyxl leaned forward. “That is intriguing. What have you come to see me about?”

“Dragon Breath,” Arthur replied.

Her lips curved. “Ah. Yes. I know what you speak of. What about it?”

“The vampires…”

“It’s not the vampires. Not even his highest command knows what he’s up to. Grey intends to keep it all to himself. He’s merely using his resources to get what he wants. Dragon Breath is one of the final components he needs to put his plan into action.”

“What is it?” Henrik asked, urgency in his deep voice.

“It’ll depend on how he uses it. It is a fae spell from time of old. As is Dragon Fire.”

Warren scowled. “The fae have been helping him?”

Arthur shot him back a glare. “Don’t be stupid, Warren. The fae want nothing to do with Grey and his insane plan for power. If you hadn’t noticed, we’re trying to stop him too. He has nothing good planned for the world, human and supernatural alike.”

Warren crossed his arms over his chest and growled. “That’s not what it sounds like.”

“Arthur is telling the truth,” Lady Wyxl said.

“I’m sorry,” Quinn said stepping forward, “who are you? Why should we trust anything you say?”

Lady Wyxl smiled. “I don’t have a side.”

“And we’re just supposed to trust you?”

“You don’t have to do anything, my dear. You should know that you are key to everything though.”

“Key? Are you psychic? I don’t understand what is happening right now. The riddles are annoying though. Just tell us whatever we came here to get.”

Lady Wyxl sighed. “You know, you take a lot of fun out of the theatrics of my job. If I don’t do the mysterious, spooky woman it’s a lot harder to earn money and sell my goods. You all need me to look crazy and be suspiciously strange. Not just a human psychic from New Jersey.”

Quinn blinked. “Whoa, seriously.”

“I’m afraid so. When the fae opened up a door, I was called to it. Apparently, I have fae blood in me or something. I can see the doorway. I stumbled in here and found a distant relative. She asked me to take over her store. Now I sell powerful items and make a boat load of money.” She glanced around at everyone. “I have the last item Grey needs to finish the spell he intends to cast. It’s not a pretty spell either.”

“How do you know?”

“Because I’ve been putting together his list of dangerous items. It took me until the last item to realize what he was doing. Especially knowing that he cracked the code on Dragon Fire too. Dragon Breath and Dragon Fire mixed together is a dangerous combination.”

“What do they do?”

“Dragon Breath is something the dragon slayers created a millennia ago when they were trying to eradicate all of the dragons. It gives humans super strength and the power of breathing fire. A crazy fae helped them and it ended up costing a lot of lives. The fae erased it from the timeline. Or at least they tried.”

Henrik scoffed. “Fire against a dragon?”

Lady Wyxl shook her head. “You don’t understand. This fire is not your ordinary fire. This fire burns dragons and anyone else aside from humans.”

“Grey is creating super soldiers?” Quinn asked.

Henrik’s eyes widened. “That he can control.”

Warren cursed.

Arthur sighed. “What’s the last item?”
