“Go take care of your dragon business.”

Maybe this was for the best right now. He could protect her by not being in her life. If she wasn’t around, Tristian wouldn’t consider her useful.

“I’ll call you later.”

She didn’t respond. Ash was left with the cold look in her eyes as the door closed.

A Sister Drugged

Finley couldn’t believe she had fallen for it again. A guy who didn’t really want her in his life. Not where it mattered. She wasn’t stupid. She knew there was a lot going on, but she wanted to be in a relationship with someone who wanted her to be by his side while he fought his demons and who wanted to be by her side while she fought her own.

She and Olivia had done that for each other, and it was why they were so close. They understood each other.

She found Olivia in her room lying on her bed staring at the ceiling.

“Olivia?”

Her sister’s blue eyes met hers. They didn’t have the normal brightness in them. They looked dull and empty.

“Are you okay?”

Her sister sat up. “I’m fine. Where have you been?”

“I was with Ash.”

“That guy from the club?”

Finley nodded.

Olivia turned so her legs were dangling off the bed. “Did he claim you?”

Finley froze. “Did he what?”

“Did he claim you?”

“What do you mean?”

Olivia stood up and started walking toward her. Her movements were anything but graceful. She was a model for a living. She knew how to walk, and grab attention and it was the only way she ever walked. This was jerky and her gait didn’t seem right.

“Did he bite you anywhere? Did the dragon make you his?”

“How…?”

“He told me everything about you and the dragon. He said that you would let him bite you, claim you as his own. Just like he did to me.”

Everything in Finley’s body froze. “Who did what to you?”

“The vampire. He took a bite out of you when you were a child. He wanted to see if I tasted as sweet. He said I was sweeter. He wanted to make me his, but not until you’re taken care of.”

“Vampire?”

“The dragons have to be taken care of. They were supposed to die out once their females were dead. No mates and they’d all turn into crazed animals running around destroying things. The humans would want them dead. But no, now they’re mating with humans. Disgusting.” The words were coming out of Olivia’s mouth, but they certainly weren’t hers. They couldn’t be.

Olivia didn’t believe in any of this stuff.

“Why do you want the dragons gone?”
