There were plenty of things to worry over, fix, and figure out, but right now Ash was going to love and fuck his mate into oblivion while the world waited.

Epilogue

SO MUCH TO BE THANKFUL FOR

Ash’s private little hunk of sand in the middle of the Atlantic, turned out to come in handy when Finley needed a place to practice being a dragon. They discovered together everything in her body had strengthened and had the same healing abilities he did.

Finley took her queen lessons from Ash, which contained mostly learning how to fight in human form and dragon form. He taught her to use swords, knives, throwing stars, spears, but sais knives were her favorite. She learned hand to hand combat. She learned how to blow fire and how to puncture the weak spots of a dragon.

Most of the time they ended up naked on their island together sparring and then fucking. Finley hated all the sand, but she couldn’t seem to resist Ash. Most of the time he would carry her into the hut and fuck her on the cot or against the wall, but occasionally, he couldn’t seem to wait to bury himself deep inside her.

Every time they were together Finley was convinced it couldn’t possibly get better, but it did. And Ash was just as insatiable for her as she was for him.

When they weren’t sparring on the island, they were in Miami with Olivia and the other dragons. They had become a close-knit group of friends. Olivia adjusted to being around the supernatural and even wondered about her own mate every now and again.

The worst time for Finley was meeting all of Ash’s family. She was nervous the family wouldn’t accept her.

Henrik came back from Chicago. He was more reserved and quieter than the last time they’d seen him.

“You okay?” Finley asked Henrik as they gathered around the table for Thanksgiving. It wasn’t a dragon holiday, but Finley used it as an excuse to bring family together, including Krystana, the youngest and only woman in the group.

Henrik sighed. “Yeah, things in Chicago are just bleak. The stuff I’ve found… it’s what nightmares are made of. I don’t know how Grey is doing all this shit and I want this mess to be over with.”

“Is it something else?” Finley asked.

Henrik glanced at her. “Nah. Don’t worry, little sis, I’m all right.” He nudged her with his shoulder managing a better smile.

Finley could still see that there was something else behind his eyes, but she didn’t push him.

The doorbell rang and Finley wrung her hands nervously.

“Don’t worry. They’ll love you.”

She didn’t feel as confident as Henrik seemed.

There was a lot of chatter in the foyer that echoed into the living room.

“All right, Asher, show us to your mate,” one man said.

“I’m dying to meet this dragon chick. She must be something special,” said another.

Four men, all as big and handsome as Ash and Henrik piled into the living room. And then there was a stunningly beautiful woman following them all behind. She was decked out in the perfect little sister rebel outfit. A tight black dress, fishnets, and knee-high boots with a stiletto heel. She was curvy and reminded Finley of a more edgy version of Olivia. Her hair was died bright pink. Ash said she was just almost twenty and not happy with her current state of life. She didn’t like being hidden away.

“Everyone, this is my mate, Finley. Finley this is my family. Levi here is the second oldest.”

Levi stepped forward and held out his hand. Finley shook his hand and smiled. “Welcome to the family, Finley. My brother raves about you.”

She smiled. “Thank you. That means a lot to me.”

“You know Henrik. Declan is over there.”

Declan smiled and waved from his place by the balcony watching everyone from a distance.

“The twins are Malcom,” the one with a beard raised his hand, “and Kashton.” The other one with no beard wearing a baseball cap on backwards came over and gave her hug.

“Finley, it’s a pleasure to meet you.”

“And this is my sister, Krystana.”
