Therewas a sudden crash.

“You’rebeing affected by the spell,”Isaid.

Shesounded defeated andIhated it. “It’snot your fault,Key.Isyour magic working?”

“Notreally.”Therewas a loud bark in the background, whichItook to meanShanewas emphatically saying her magic wasn’t working at all.
