Something tells me I’m gonna regret that.

“Are you okay?”
Looking up quickly, I find Boo staring at me from the hallway. His crossed arms and quirked brows tell me he’s been there for a while, watching me sit in front of a plate of food without touching it.
“Of course. Are you okay? How was work?”
Shaking his head, he joins me at the table and taps the wood. “Fine. Same shit, different night. I think I’m getting closer though.”
“Closer?”
“To The Sons. I’m starting to pick out their pattern. If I can guess where they’re gonna be just one time, I can catch them in the act.”
Or die.
I’m afraid I know which one is more likely. “Why can’t we just leave?” I ask softly. “It’s not like it would be hard to pack at this point. We could go somewhere else, anywhere else. Leave The Sons behind and start over somewhere.”
He ignores me completely as the music coming from the garage cuts off and Hayes comes back in from the garage looking dirtier than I’ve ever seen him. The dust clinging to his hair has me staring longer than I should. It’s hot — he’s hot, and I hate him for it. It’s strange that I don’t have to imagine what his cock looks like anymore now that I’ve seen it, and that thought alone has an annoying blush heating up my cheeks as I finally look away.
“What are you guys talking about?”
Nosey asshole.
“Princess over here thinks Cape Frost isn’t good enough for her anymore,” Boo scoffs. “If I had a fucking dollar for every time she asked me to move, I could buy her her own damn house.”
Smiling cheekily, I flip him off. “It’s a shithole town. Fuck me for not wanting to stay.”
“Yeah, fuck you,” Hayes says jokingly, but when I meet his eyes I see so much promise and heat there I forget all about being pissy with Boo.
“Anyway,” my brother continues, “I‘m off tonight. Not voluntarily. Apparently I’ve been working too much overtime for their tastes, so you’ll have to sleep on the couch tonight, Sam.”
I don’t give a shit about the couch. What I do care about is losing a night of lessons, especially when the bastard finally agreed to fuck me — and pay me for it, too. “Oh.”
“You sound disappointed,” he says with a chuckle. “Pretty sure you don’t want to share a bed with your big brother.”
I don’t miss the sideways smirk on Hayes’ face. Of course he’s happy he gets a night off.
“You two could share a bed,” I suggest. “Spoon a little bit. Hayes has been cranky lately.”
“Hayes is always cranky,” Boo chides, walking over to shove his friend but he stops short when he sees how dirty he is. “It’s because he’s always working with wood and no one wants to work his.”
Hayes snorts at his horrible joke. “That sounds like jealousy. You have no idea who’s been working my wood.”
Oh god. This conversation needs to end, yet I find myself blurting, “Yeah? Is she hot?”
“You think I’d touch anything less than gorgeous?” He walks closer to me and crosses his arms. “Enough about her. You can come sleep in my bed with me if you want. It’s bigger than his.”
The butterflies in my stomach are still flying as Boo grimaces. “Well, at least I don’t need to worry about you two fucking. Go for it.”
“You’re right. She’ll stay on her side like a good girl, huh?”
He’s really pushing it today, and my pussy knows it.
Clenching my thighs as inconspicuously as I can, I roll my eyes. “Of course, Hayes,” just as Boo decides to be a dick.
“She’s never been a good girl a day in her life.”
