She rips her mouth away from mine and grabs the hem of my sweater, yanking it over my head.
“He loves her?” She asks once it’s off.
My hands are on her waist as we stare at each other.
“He loves her.” I confirm.
She squeals and hugs me tightly. “We did it.”
I smile at her, all of the possessiveness I feel for her shining in my eyes. “Now forget about them and fuck me, Addy.”
She gives me a saucy grin, reaches into my loungewear trousers and pulls out my cock. She puts me inside her and rides me with her arms wrapped around my neck and mine around her waist until we’re both screaming our release.
I don’t go back to bed and call my daughter when the clock strikes nine in the morning.
“Papa?” She answers, sleep still coloring her words. Clearly, I just woke her up. “Are you okay?”
“Thought I’d let you know that idiot ex-fiancé of yours forced his way into our home at the crack of dawn this morning.”
I hear rustling and I know she just scrambled to sit up. “What?”
“He incapacitated Lev.” My voice drops an octave. “He woke your mother.”
She breathes in sharply. “Dad–”
“Don’t worry, I didn’t kill him.”
She exhales a relieved breath. “What did he want?”
“Only the one thing I value above everything and everyone else,” I say. “You.”
There’s a short pause during which I know she’s twirling her hair around her finger and digesting my words. “What did you say?”
I press the phone closer to my ear and lean back in my chair.
“You are not mine to give away, darling. I made a mistake when I set up your betrothal without asking you in the first place and I’m not making it twice. It’s up to you to make that choice now.” My lip curls into the hint of a smile even though she can’t see me. “You let me know what you decide, alright? I’ll support you either way.”
“Merci, Papa.”
“For what it’s worth,” I say before she can hang up. “He might not be a total loss.”
“Wow,” she replies drolly through the line. “What, so you like him now?”
I scoff dismissively. “Don’t get carried away.” I let her know, firmly. “He just reminds me of someone, that’s all. Someone who made mistakes early on in his marriage even though he loved his wife very much.”
“Did his wife forgive him?”
“Yes. That’s how you came into the world.”
“Oh, Dad… I just don’t think he loves me like you love Mum.”
“Either he’ll prove to you that he does or he won’t. Your Mum and I are pretty excited to find out which one it’s going to be.”
Chapter 50
Sixtine
The bell rings and I’m at the ready to open my apartment door.
