“I miss Pooh,” she says into my lips.

Mine stretch into a smile, but I’m still kissing her. I don’t remove my mouth from hers, instead I deepen the kiss, making her melt right here, in my hands. She starts to go limp against me, but I’m not letting her fall. I’m just going to make her fall apart, but I’ll be right here to catch her.

I murmur something into her lips, and she moans and dips lower. I brace her hipbones against my thighs, wrapping a knee around her to lift her up closer to my height. Then I repeat what I just said:

“Let’s go home, baby.”

EXORCISM OF A HAUNTED HOUSE

BY EDEN ELLIOT

This is a haunted house.

It has more ghosts than people.

I’m turning into one right now

In plain sight.

I am back there,

Back to how it used to be:

I hate the way he looks at me.

As if I am a piece of air.

I hate the way he doesn’t look at me

Not even once in a week.

I hate the way he stole me

From a life that belonged to me.

This is a haunted house.

It has more ghosts than people.

I see her in the window

The girl who was never supposed to be me.

The ghost girls gather around, shoulder to shoulder

All the ages I was while I was trapped in this house

All of the mes stand by the windows and stare out

Into the frosted evening, as the boy with the sad eyes

Calls my name and says ‘Let’s go home’.

He takes my face in his hands and lowers his head to mine

And kisses me in front of all my ghosts
