They don’t know that before Bane, it wasn’t only Rave I had been with. But it’s none of their damn business.
“I know,” I lie, batting my eyelashes. “I’m pretty much a saint, don’t you think? Like, how many women have you guys slept with?”
You could hear a pin drop.
Double-standard fuckers.
“I’m a virgin,” I hear Sage lie under his breath, making me laugh.
“I’m saving myself for my mate,” Silver adds with a straight face.
“I’m just doing oral sex, so it doesn’t count.” Salem chuckles, his thumb running across the scar on his cheek.
The other two laugh, breaking the tension.
“If Bane doesn’t treat you right, though, we will react just how you thought we would, baby sister. But you finding your fated mate and bonding with him is a good thing,” Silver says gently, wrapping his arm around me and pulling me into his hard chest. “But we’re not going to lie, watching over you has been a full-time job. And now we can hand the reigns over to Bane.”
“Good-fucking-luck to him,” Sage adds, leaning forward and kissing my head.
“Ten gold coins he will come searching for us needing assistance at some point soon,” Salem adds, grinning widely as he pulls me from Silver and gives me a bear hug. “You know I love you, Saylor. Give him hell. Are you going to be moving in with him? Can I have your house? I need a new torture pad.”
He sounds way too happy at the thought of me making Bane miserable, which somehow amuses me.
“No, I’m keeping my house.”
“Shame,” he mutters.
Smiling against his chest, I close my eyes and enjoy the moment.
The only thing that would make it better is having Shadow here. “Bane is going to ask Soren if he can track Shadow.”
The room is quiet for a few moments. “Maybe fate has a plan for us after all,” Sage murmurs, looking toward the counter. “Come on, let’s eat this bribery. It looks fucking delicious.”
We all sit around my dining table, eating dessert and talking about our favorite memories with Shadow.
And afterward, I zip right into Chaos.
CHAPTER TWELVE
Bane
We all stand around the kitchen, shirtless, drinking the contraception herbs together. I should probably be ashamed of this ritual that happens once a month, along with our joint body count, both in the bedroom and our kills, but I’m not. In fact, I’m even less ashamed of the fact I’m not actually taking the herbs. I don’t know if Saylor is protected or not, but the thought of her round and pregnant with my child has me feeling some kind of way.
Horny, maybe, but mostly possessive.
I’m not telling Axe, August, and Kai because it’s none of their business, but my cup has nothing but water in it. Smirking to myself, I down the rest of the liquid and put the cup down. Saylor wanted to be alone to speak with her brothers, but if she’s not here in another thirty minutes, I’ll be going back to get her.
“I still can’t believe you’re bonded,” Axe mutters, shaking his head with a lopsided grin. He looks over to August. “You’re up next. You better hurry and work your magic on Milana.”
August mutters something about her sooner killing him.
“You guys going out to Lust?” I ask, referring to one of the clubs we frequent in Chaos. It gets very hot and heavy there, letting all the incubi look for females to fuck to recharge their magic.
“Are you not?” Kai asks, smirking as he puts his herbs down and runs a hand through his long brown hair.
While I have mostly demon blood in me, I must also have a small amount of incubi blood because I can also charge a little through lust and sex. But I don’t need to. Blood is the most important to me, and after drinking Saylor’s, I’m feelingstronger than ever. “No, my mate is coming here. You can all meet her tomorrow.”
Axe tilts his head to the side, watching me. “I already met her, remember?”
