Thankfully, my brothers pulled up at just the right time.
Kendra screeched again, “She’s my daughter.”
But it was Creature who said, “No. She’s Sutton’s.”
Just then, the brothers grabbed her by the arms and hauled her off our front porch.
Gabby and Adeline came in then and smiled, Adeline nodded, “We got her, we’re going to make cookies. Go do your thing and slap that woman for me?” she asked as she looked at Sutton.
Sutton winked, then headed out to my bike, determination in every step, but my eyes were glued to her ass.
Fuck, I was one lucky son of a bitch.
Needless to say, I had to fuck my woman in the kitchen in the clubhouse, I couldn’t wait to get her up to our room.
Not after my woman beat the holy hell out of the woman before every brother in the MC put bullets in her body.
Things were great, so great, I was still kicking my ass for never really seeing what I had.
But I would never be that fool again.
Sadly, the day before Christmas Eve, Sutton’s phone rang.
Chapter 14
Sutton
With my hand in Irish’s and my other hand held by Maisie, he led us to my SUV.
Once Maisie was all buckled in, he opened my door.
Once I was settled, he leaned in, swept his thumb over my cheek, and said, “You need me, you flash your lights, alright?”
I smiled weakly, then nodded.
Then, after Irish closed my door, I heard, “Mommy, I’m right here if you need me. Okay?”
I turned around in my seat and smiled at my girl, “Thank you, baby.”
I took in a deep breath, and then I turned my SUV on, my Christmas present from Irish.
When we pulled up outside of the cemetery, I wanted to laugh at all the shocked stares the men of Zagan MC received. But also that of Soulless Outlaws, Pagan’s Soldiers, Immoral Saints, Wrath MC, the Alabama chapter, and the Texas chapter.
But I didn’t.
Instead, I cut my SUV off, unbuckled, climbed out, and got Maisie out.
Just as I was shutting her door, a steely arm wrapped around my waist and pulled me to his front.
His face lowered, pressing itself into the side of my neck, his lips brushing the skin there as he asked, “You okay, baby?”
I nodded, then wrapped my free hand around his that was resting against my stomach, “Yeah, I won’t be later. But right now, I am.”

We all stood there as the little girl’s casket was lowered into the ground.
