“You just think he’s hot,” Winter teased.
“You wish.”
“Seriously. I promise to stay out of the way and hold the camera.”
“If I ever gave in and tried a guy, you’d forget all about your camera.”
She sniffed and arched a brow. “I tried girls for you.”
He chuckled. “I didn’t have to push very hard. It was pretty obvious you thought she was hot. Subtle, you aren’t.”
“You don’t love me enough to fuck a guy for my entertainment?”
“That’s cold. There’s no good answer to that question, and you know it.”
“Sure there is, you could say yes.”
He laughed and pinched her thigh near one of the cuts hiding under her jeans. She hissed and swatted his hand away.
“What do you think about Saya?”
Winter considered her for a moment. “I definitely wouldn’t kick her out of bed for eating corn flakes, but I usually like girls with more personality.”
“I think she didn’t have permission to speak.”
She frowned at him, although he didn’t look away from the road. “You think so?”
“The signs were all there, other than the fact that her necklace wasn’t an obvious collar.”
She thought about it. Even Cross wasn’t hardcore enough to silence his women in public, generally. Although she’d never seen him with a sub before Izzy and Gemma – they’d told her at one point he’d been an uber Dom – but it was difficult to imagine her boss being strict. He was pretty easy to get along with. And happy. Fuck, did those girls make him happy.
“I suppose sometimes a necklace is just a necklace. You own several necklaces even though you’re not my sub. Maybe she’s just shy.”
The interactions she’d seen seemed to jigsaw together. “No, you’re right. I think they’re kinky.”
“You think everyone is kinky.”
“Because everyone is. It’s a sliding scale.”
“Yes, dear.” Mack smiled but didn’t look away from the road.
It was fully dark by the time they pulled into the driveway, the moon obscured by low clouds that made the night air feel inviting despite the chill. The SUV pulled up next to them in the broad dirt drive before Winter reached the farmhouse porch, and the couple was behind her a moment later.
Ramsay grunted as he surveyed their instruments and practice space. It took up the entire front living room, but since there was another living room, plus three huge bedrooms upstairs, the use of the space was justified. She wasn’t sure what Malachi did with all the room – the main house was bigger than theirs. Considering how relaxed Mal had been since his “wedding” to Reece and Scarlett, she had a few guesses, though.
Ramsay went directly to their drum kit and looked it over. “It’s not bad, but I’d prefer my own. It’s in storage right now anyway. Our apartment is too small for it and theneighbors are too close. We can’t make much noise without disturbing people.”
Saya ducked her head and her cheeks reddened. Poor little thing.
“That was one of the reasons we moved out here when we got the chance. It’s a bit of a drive from town, but we can be as loud as we want.” Mack and Ramsay exchanged smirks.
Winter sighed. Men.
“What’s your band name right now, anyway?”
“We’ve been calling ourselves The Kink Monsters.” Mack laughed. “We used to be the Creepy Little Sex Zombies, but then everyone thought we were a punk band. I’m not sure if this one is better. It’s open for discussion.”
“Kink Monsters? I like it.” Ramsay chuckled.
