He believed in the fate on this island and fate was that it would happen when it did.

Angel blinked her eyes open and focused on him. “Morning,” he said. “How are you feeling?”

She stretched. “Good. Not sore at all.”

“You would have been if we’d done it a second time like you wanted.”

“The bath helped,” she said.

He’d picked her up and brought her to the bathroom, ran the tub, and filled it with bath salts that some woman had left here before. He tried not to think of those things and she hadn’t asked.

“I’m glad,” he said.

“I wish you would have joined me in it though,” she said. “But I did appreciate dinner being ready for me when I got out.”

He laughed, then leaned down to kiss her on the lips. Just a soft one. Gentle.

“Maybe next time,” he said.

She stretched one more time. “I’d like that. What are your plans today? Did you want me to leave? I got thinking that anyone driving by might have seen my car here last night and we said we were keeping this a secret.”

“When I got your bag out of it, I pulled it into the garage,” he said.

He’d been thinking of that too.

If it didn’t sit well with him to continue to keep it a secret, he told himself it was the right thing to do for now. He was honoring her decision more than anything.

Though he wasn’t sure how much longer he could keep it quiet.

His family weren’t idiots, but thankfully he lived out of the path of anyone driving by and his parents had been in Boston for the past two weeks on business.

“Thanks for that,” she said. “You never know if any of those women that flirt with you in the office might stalk you.”

He threw the covers back. “I’m not sure many know where I live and my house is a bit off the road anyway.”

His driveway was long and curved so that when a car was in front of the driveway, it was shielded by trees. He liked the privacy but always had his vehicle in the garage so that people couldn’t figure out where he lived unless they knew him personally.

“Are you going to get up now?” she asked. “Or just going to the bathroom and coming back to bed?”

“I’m getting up,” he said. “Once I’m up I have a hard time going back to sleep.”

“We could do something else,” she said, wiggling her eyebrows.

“Yeah,” he said. “We can go work out like I do in the mornings.”

She frowned and put an adorable pout on her face. He’d love nothing more than to dive back into bed and sink into her, but he really did fear she’d be sore and didn’t want that.

“Sure,” she said. “It’s not the exercise I had in mind. I hope you’re not one of those guys that only wants it once a week.”

“Now you’re taunting me,” he said. “I’m not falling for it. I just don’t want you to be sore. Next weekend will be different.”

“I have to wait all week?” she asked and threw her hands up in the air. “Geez, Coy. As if I haven’t waited years.”

He burst out laughing. “Fine, a few days. We’ll work it out.”

“That’s better. And until then I’m going to take a shower with you. Lots of firsts. Or don’t you have the willpower to have me naked in there with you?”

It was going to test him, but he’d be able to do it.
