“I didn’t want to get yelled at again,” he said, smiling.

“Good,” she said. “Then you’re learning. I can be stubborn too. I know that. I think we are finding a good balance and we will continue to. I love you with everything I have in me.”

“I love you too,” he said. “More than I ever thought I could love another person. I don’t want you to doubt that. I don’t want you to think I only married you because you were pregnant. I knew I was going to marry you long before you said you were pregnant.”

“This is the first I’m hearing it,” she said.

“I was letting you set the pace. I knew how much you hated people telling you what to do and being babied. Somewhere along the line, I lost track of that and I’m sorry. I needed you to remind me and you did.”

“We all lose our way,” she said. “But as long as we find it again, everything will be alright.”

“It will,” he said, leaning down to kiss her. “Or you’ll break my fingers and I need them to work. Especially being down my second dentist for a few months.”

She laughed and pulled him down for a hug. “Remember that too. I’ve always been tougher than I look.”

“You won’t let me forget it either!”

EPILOGUE

Eight Months Later

“I can’t believewe are back here,” Angel said.

“We never got to have a honeymoon,” Coy said. “This is perfect. You didn’t even get to drink a glass of champagne at our wedding.”

“True,” she said. “My parents were thrilled to come here for a week with your parents. I think they are like best friends now.”

“Seems fitting,” he said. “Since your brother is my best friend and now you’re my wife. All one big happy family.”

“We are,” she said, looking over at their son napping in the crib of their hotel room.

They’d arrived in the Bahamas last night via the Bond jet again. As much as she was looking forward to a better-late-than-never honeymoon, she didn’t want to be away from their son.

Nor did she want their nanny to come along either, so the nanny got the week off and the grandparents were sharing in the duties so everyone got a nice vacation out of this.

Coy’s idea because he was sweet and romantic that way.

“I wish your brother could have come,” he said. “I knew my brothers and their families weren’t going to, but Spencer could use the time off.”

“He could,” she said. “But he’ll have to figure out his life on his own. Just like I have.”

“You did figure it out,” he said. “Have I thanked you before for having a crush on me for years?”

“Many times in the past year,” she said, laughing.

“I’ll be thankful for the rest of my life,” he said. “And that you made the first move too.”

“If I hadn’t, you might still be looking at me as Spencer’s little sister who was going to break if she was touched the wrong way.”

He laughed and picked her up, then tossed her on the bed, him coming down on top of her. “Nah,” he said. “I learned pretty quickly you’re tougher than anyone thought you could be.”

“I’m glad everyone can see that,” she said. “And I still don’t think it’s funny you wore padded gloves during my delivery.”

“Hey,” he said. “I need these hands.”

The hands he had roaming down her sides and under her shirt now.

“You do good work with those hands,” she said.
