We both made feral noises as he held himself still, until I ground my body against his, digging my fingers into his ass to get him to move.
“I need…” I started, not sure what I needed. Him.
“Oh, my angel, I know just what you need. Because I need the same damn thing.”
After the initial, tiny spurt of discomfort passed, I loved every second, holding on and letting him claim me as his own. The sense of power and freedom I felt, even though my legs were splayed around him, his body pounded into mine while his arms caged me beneath him, was extraordinary. The best I ever felt.
Until that sweet ache built up again, and I held him tighter, moaning into his ear to go faster, harder, never stop.
“Not until you come again,” he said, nipping at my earlobe as he did just what I begged for. “Not until your tight little pussy chokes the life out of my cock.”
“Oh my God,” I cried out, his words tossing me over the edge.
And straight into perfect oblivion. I still felt him pounding into me, and his roar reached my ears even though I was a thousand miles away. Seconds later, his big body collapsed onto mine. Our hearts thudded so hard it was a wonder we didn’t crack each other’s ribs, and all I could do was use the last of my strength to hold on tight.
After a few moments of gasping, he rolled to his side, pulling me on top of him and swiping his hands gently down my back to brush away some of the dirt and pebbles that clung to me. It was a sweet gesture, something the Dima I thought I knew would do.
Don’t start, I warned my brain.Not now.
The feel of Dima’s fingers running up and down my back overrode any unpleasant thoughts from breaking through the haze of pleasure I was still happily residing under. And the wayhe tipped his head to smile down at me kept out any thoughts at all.
Chapter 16 - Dimitry
Wow, just goddamn wow. Who was this wild woman nestled up against my chest? My heart was still beating a mile a minute, and her soft sigh made me ready for another round. The first round had thrown me for a loop, because finally being able to claim my bride after she nearly fell to her death was the last thing I expected.
Round two would have to wait, though, because we’d been exploring the jungle for a couple hours before we lost ourselves in each other for another one. The sun was still above the trees, but night fell quickly when you were in any kind of forest, and I didn’t want to get caught out there in pitch dark.
“Time to get moving,” I said, full of regret.
We found our scattered clothing and put it back on, with Olivia giggling happily when her bra was hanging from a bush ten feet away. The sound was the sweetest music, and I wondered if this was a turning point.
As we neared the house, all was quiet, since it was past the end of the gardeners’ work day. The sun was dipping below the horizon, and everything was bathed in the glow of the pool lights. Olivia lagged a few feet behind me, worn out from the long trek and our sweaty workout, so I waited for her to catch up and swung her over my shoulder.
Carrying her to the pool, I slid her down the length of my body and kissed her soundly. As soon as our lips parted and her eyes fluttered open to look up at me, I grinned and tipped her backward into the pool.
Before she came up, I jumped in beside her and hauled her into my arms when she popped up, sputtering. “I’d make you pay for that if it wasn’t so refreshing,” she said.
“You can still make me pay,” I said, swimming to the pool's far end. “If you can catch me.”
Both of us perked up in the cool water and swam around, splashing each other as if a real prize was on the line. This was fun. The kind of fun I could barely remember having except maybe when I was a kid. Olivia somehow brought that out in me, and the only reason I stopped the splash war was because hunger was gnawing through my stomach.
“We need food,” I said. “And neither one of us is going to have to cook it. How about we head to the restaurant?”
“That’s probably the best idea you’ve had since I’ve known you,” she said.
God, I loved that sparkle in her eyes. How could I keep things just the way they were, right now?
We sloshed through the house and up the stairs, and as she was about to leave my side to go into her room to change, I grabbed her hand and tugged her close. Looking down at her, I swept her dripping locks away from her cheeks, marveling at her beauty even when she was so bedraggled.
“I think it’s about time you moved out of that room and in with me,” I said, watching her eyes.
There was a flicker in them, as if a shade had been abruptly pulled down, and it pissed me off. Was all that passion she showed me only an act to get on my good side so I’d let my guard down? I wanted to believe what I was feeling was anger, because if I thought she could do that, the pain would be unreal.
“Don’t ever lie to me, Liv,” I said. She winced at the pet name I’d been longing to call her. “Not about anything, but especially not about how you feel when we’re—”
She gasped and jerked out of my hold on her. Great, now she was back to being furious with me for calling her out. Good, I was ready to get into it.
“How could you think I’d ever fake such a thing,” she hissed, shocking the hell out of me because that wasn’t what I expected to hear. “That was the first time I ever did that, and I’d rather die than share something so precious with someone I didn’t—” Stopping abruptly, she pressed her lips together and looked anywhere but at me. “With someone I wasn’t attracted to,” she finally finished.
