“It’s nothing bad,” I quickly add, running my fingers through his hair. “My vacation is almost over. I leave tomorrow to head back home.”

Frost’s eyes widen and he quickly looks away. “I see.”

“I don’t think you do. Frost, look at me.” His eyes snap back to my face, our eyes locking. “Come home with me.”

“What?” Frost’s eyes dart between my own. “Are you serious?”

“I’m dead serious.” I cup Frost’s face between my palms. Between the two of us, physically I look much softer and Frost looks like a badass, but right now, I can tell his heart is bare for me. He’s tender and soft and fragile. I would never want to do something to hurt him, especially after all the hurt he’s already endured in the past. “I want you to come home with me. Meet my pack.Joinmy pack. Be with me.” I swallow around the lump in my throat. “Be my alpha.”

Frost surges forward, kissing me hard right on the mouth. He kisses me with an urgency that calls to my very soul. He kisses me until we’re both breathless.

“Are you sure? I want that more than I can tell you, but I’m worried we’re rushing.”

“If it makes you feel better, we can wait to officially mate until after you come and meet my pack?”

“Yes,” he says, kissing me again. And then again. “Yes, that’s perfect.”

A startled giggle leaves me without my permission, excitement bubbling up inside of me until it pours out in the form of giggles. Not only does Frost want me but he’s going to stay. No more running, no more drifting.

“I’m going to owe Ellie so much when we get back home,” I say, ignoring the way my vision is growing glassy from unshed tears. “This is going to be the best Christmas I’ve ever had and it’s all thanks to you.”

“When we get to your house, I’ll lie under the tree for you.”

I smack his shoulder playfully. “That won’t be necessary.” Then I pause, smirking. “Although, I wouldn’t have a problem with you wrapping a bow around your co-”

Frost cuts me off by kissing me, the two of us giggling against each other’s lips.

Chapter fourteen

Frost

“Okay,” I say, closing my trunk and turning towards Avery. “I think that’s everything.”

“I’m gonna do one more sweep of the cabin and then we can be on our way!”

I smile as I watch him bound up the stairs and into the cabin. Gods, his ass looks good in those pants.

Someone clears their throat behind me and I turn around, finding Theo and Elias standing there, giving me twin looks of amusement. My cheeks heat and I cross my arms over my chest, doing my best to look like I haven’t just been caught staring at Avery’s ass even though that’s clearly what I was just doing.

“We just wanted to catch you before you were on your way,” Elias says with a wide grin. “You really helped us out this week. If you ever need a reference for a future job, please don’t hesitate.”

Theo nods his head. “Or if you’re looking for a more permanent job, let us know. We could use a full time maintenance man, especially during the summer months.”

I’m touched more than I care to admit. “Thank you,” I say right away and meaning it with my whole heart. Not only did they take a chance on me when it would have been easier to turn me away, but they also led me to my omega. “Thank you so much, both of you. You’ll never know what this means to me.”

Elias raises his brow playfully, tilting his head towards the cabin. “We have an idea or two.”

“We might not know the full details, but we can tell whatever is going on between you two, is something really special,” Theo says softly. “We’re very happy for you, Frost. I hope we’ll see you again in the future.”

“Oh yes,” Elias adds, “and maybe someday you can tell us the full story.” He sighs. “I just love a good love story.”

“I’ll see what we can make happen in the future,” I tell them both with a warm chuckle. I turn towards the cabin as Avery walks back out. He sees the three of us and grins.

“Here to see us off?”

“Yes,” Elias says, pulling Avery into a tight hug. “Merry Christmas, Avery. We were just telling Frost that you two need to come visit us again in the future.”

“And to offer Frost a job,” Theo adds with a raised brow.
