Chapter One

Parker

I step into the cafe, taking in a deep breath and smiling to myself. I love the smell of baked goods. There’s just something about it that makes me go warm all over whether it’s warm cinnamon bread, sugar cookies, or banana muffins, it doesn’t matter, I love them all equally. My mouth waters as I step up to the counter, taking a look inside the glass case. I find the most adorable sugar cookies I’ve ever seen, shaped like little bow ties. There’s also some incredibly gooey looking brownies with caramel and chocolate chips. I hum to myself as I look at the variety I could pick from but know without a doubt what I’ll end up picking; there just so happens to be an apple pie in the case with my name on it.

The woman behind the counter, a nice beta woman named Bella, gives me a wide, familiar smile. I’m a regular here, stopping by once a week to feed my sweet tooth. “Good morning, Parker!”

“Hi, Bella. How are you?”

“Doing good. You just missed the morning rush so perfect timing as usual.”

“I just have a sixth sense,” I tell her happily, eyeing that apple pie a little more. “I would love a slice of that pie along with a black coffee?”

“You got it.”

After giving Bella my money, I turn around and wander around the cafe, looking for a place to sit when my eyes catch my bosses. Bryce and Jeremy Cole are both alphas who’re mated and run a porn studio together. They are by far thebestbosses I’ve ever had. Not only do they truly care about their employees but they create an amazing work environment for every single person they hire. I haven’t been there very long but I can already see why everyone loves working there. They really are a little family.

Before I started at Studio C, I was a simple camboy. I loved the attention the camera gave me and my fans adored the shows I would put on for them. I even set up a tier list that let them decide what I would be doing during my show depending on how much they would donate to me. The interaction between me and my donors made my shows unique and kept people coming back time and time again. It was so muchfun.

But it was also lonely.

As much as I loved interacting with my chat and my fans, I longed to have a real, physical connection with someone. I wanted to feel a warm body next to mine. I craved touching and being touched. That’s when I got the idea to scope out other people in the camming business and ask them for collabs. I always made more during the times I had guests on my channel with me, everyone being excited and ready to throw more money our way. Again, it was fun.

When Bryce and Jeremy messaged me, I was hesitant for only a moment before I emailed them back to set up an interview. This was my way out. It gave me the excuse I needed to leave my little town and start new. Which is exactly what I needed at the time.

“Parker!”

I startle out of my inner thoughts, finding myself in front of Bryce and Jeremy’s table. I give them a warm smile. “Hey guys.”

“Come sit down,” Jeremy says, gesturing at the seat across from them because yes, they’re the type of couple to sit in the same side of the booth. It’s achingly cute. Part of me wants to complain about how I’ll need to brush my teeth after this because they’re just that sweet, and the other part of me is overwhelmed withlongingat the sight of them together. But I would never say that out loud, not in front of Bryce at least. The alpha is so goddamn grumpy, the complete opposite of his sunshiny mate.

I slide into the booth, getting comfortable. “Nice to see you out and about,” Jeremy says. He always has a way of making every person he comes into contact with feel welcomed. Since the first time we sat down for my interview I just clicked with them. There’s something about these two that draws you in and makes you feel safe. I’m a little envious of this super power he has if I’m honest.

“You guys too. I was just thinking about you?”

“You were?” Bryce asks, his voice deep and rumbling.

“Kinda. I was just thinking about how much I’m enjoying my time here! This town is so nice. The perfect place for a fresh start.”

“Oh, right. I totally forgot you’re still new to town,” Jeremy says, picking up his mug and taking a sip. It smells like warm apple cider.

“It’s been a few months, but yeah, everything still has that shiny new sparkle to it,” I tell them, smiling up at Bella as she brings me my pie and coffee. “Thank you.”

“Is there a reason you needed that fresh, new start?”

Bryce elbows Jeremy. “Don’t be nosy.”

I snort in amusement, my chest feeling light. “It’s no problem, I don’t mind talking about it.”

“See,” Jeremy says with a giant pout, batting his lashes at Bryce. “He doesn’t mind.”

In response, Bryce rolls his eyes. Gosh, they’re adorable. I guess what they say about opposites attracting and all that is true.

“I somewhat recently had a bad breakup, before I got into camming. It kinda messed with my head.”

“Aww, I’m sorry to hear that.”

“It’s fine,” I assure them, taking a moment to take a giant bite of apple pie, just barely keeping back a moan as the cinnamon and apple flavors burst on my tongue. I would give up my car for this pie if it asked me, it’s honestlythatgood. “We just grew apart I guess? He wanted different things.” That’s what I usually say anyway, because it hurts a little less to think we grew apart instead of thinking about the things he said when we broke up.
