Page 3 of Choosing Me

“Wait. Don’t you meanMr. Wilson?”

I look up at Calvin, tilting my head. “What?”

“Everyone calls you Mr. Wilson.”

I stare for a long moment, my stomach sinking when I realize he’s not teasing. “Yeah,” I murmur, looking down at my desk.

“Calvin,” Jeremy says slowly. “Wilson’s name is Wilson Priestly. You knew that, right?”

Calvin’s eyes widen. He lets out a long sigh as he runs his fingers through his hair. “Okay, in my defense everyone calls you Mr. Wilson. How the fuck was I supposed to know that was yourfirst name?”

“Wow,” I say, stretching out the word. “I thought I was special.”

“I can’t wait to tell everyone how big of a dumbass you are,” Bryce murmurs and it startles a chuckle out of me. Calvin gets a nice blush to his cheeks and I’m positive it’s the first time I’ve seen him blush. It’s cute. There goes my crush, solidifying itself just a little bit more.

“Okay, okay. Jokes on me,” Calvin murmurs, glaring at Bryce and Jeremy as they walk away. He taps his fingers against my desk and for some reason beyond myself, I somehow know he wants me to look up at him. Something in the air shifts between us, the jokes falling away and leaving behind a moment of seriousness. How does Calvin do this to me? How does he make me wanna stand at attention and wait on his every word?

I look up, my eyes meeting his. Time feels like it slows.

“Hi,” I whisper, both of us smiling.

“Hi. I wanted to know if you’d let me make it up to you. The whole name thing.”

I raise my brow, my stomach flooding with butterflies. “What did you have in mind?”

Calvin carefully tucks his hair behind his ear before placing his forearms against my desk and leaning down so we’re almost eye to eye. “Let me make you dinner,” he says, a smirk stretching across his pretty lips. “Which is where we’ll start.”

My heart is hammering against my ribs as the realization sinks in; Calvin is asking me out. Holy fucking shit! Okay, I gotta play this cool. Don’t act too eager, don’t be too forward. I can play this game just as well as he can. I bite my bottom lip, taking the bait. “And where will we end?”

Calvin’s chuckle makes my cheeks warm, his hazel eyes darkening. The sight makes my stomach fill with a thousand tiny fireflies all buzzing around and making me giddy. “That’ll be up to you and what you’re comfortable with. If it was up to me I’d say things would end with you in my bed for the night.”

I curse my cheeks for heating even further. I’m a strong, independent alpha whowon’tlet this fucking omega make me flustered, goddamn it! And yet, here I am, as flustered as an alpha with no game. Which is obviously the opposite of me. I clear my throat, looking away from his hazel eyes in order to compose myself as best as I can. “I’m sure that would be agreeable.”

“You’re kind of a dork, aren’t you?”

I shrug. “A bit. Is that a problem?”

Calvin shakes his head, his smile warm. “Not at all. I like it.”

“Alright, loverboy,” Ryder says, startling the both of us, not hearing him unlock the door. I sit back in my seat, running my hand over my face as I compose myself. “It’s time you stopped flirting and got to work.”

Calvin straightens, looking completely unaffected. Even his ability to keep his composure is attractive, it’s completely unfair. Why’d I have to get a crush on the cute porn star?

“I believe we were just finishing up here,” Calvin says, turning to give Ryder a wide smile. “Does this weekend work for you?” When I nod Calvin taps his fingers against my desk again, my eyes follow the dexterous digits move, transfixed, before he’s pulling away and heading up the stairs with Ryder.

I instantly miss his presence.

Thankfully, I don’t have time to wallow because the newest hire, Parker, is knocking on the door. He doesn’t have an ID or key yet so I walk over and let him.

“Welcome,” I tell him, wanting him to feel at home here. Some people would see this place just as their job but I’ve come to realize the people who work here feel like family to each other. I might be on the outside cusp of that but that doesn’t mean Parker has to feel that way.

“Thanks so much. You must be the famous Mr. Wilson Jeremy told me about.”

“That’s me. But you can just call me Wilson.”

I quickly get Parker all squared away with his photo ID, his key card, and showing him the layout of the building. I can see why Jeremy and Bryce have hired him. He’s tall, dark, and handsome while also having a kind personality. I think he’s going to fit right in with the other people who work here.

I’m just showing him the locker room when to my surprise, out walks Calvin wearing nothing but a black robe. My body tenses as my eyes look him up and down.
