Wilson lets out a long breath and licks his full lips. “Give me like fifteen minutes and then I’m all yours again.”
“Deal,” I say, running my hands over his toned chest. “Next time you can take me from behind so we can take a spoonage-knot nap.”
“I kinda hate that you called it that but alright, sounds like a plan.”
I snort, shaking my head. “You love it. And you love me.”
Wilson pulls his hands away from his head and runs his fingers as best as he can with them tied together across my cheek. “I really, really do.” And because I can, I kiss him again.
Chapter Fourteen
Wilson
“I’m kindasurprised they even invited me,” I murmur to Calvin as we walk into Penny’s, the local adult arcade. I get a blast of fondness here, remembering our ‘not date’ not that long ago and the fun we had.
“Hush,” he says, squeezing my hand. “You’re part of the family. Of course they’d want you here for their little announcement party...thing.”
“So they didn’t tell you what this announcement is?”
“Nope. I couldn’t even bribe it out of Harrison. Usually I can get shit from him by offering chocolate chocolate chip muffins,” Calvin says with a giant pout that makes me warm all over. A little thrill goes through me, already knowing the news. Of course I kept it to myself, mostly because I heard it completely by accident and it’s not my news to tell. Plus, it’s gonna be fun to see everyone’s surprised faces.
Harrison and Derek have invited everyone at the office here tonight, telling all of us that they had some grand announcement to make and they wanted their closest friends to be there to celebrate. It’s hard for me to believe they see me as part of the family instead of just the security guard but I’m glad to be here. Being at the front door allows me to see them all grow over time, I get to see glimpses of their lives as they pass by. Maybe now I can have more than just glimpses.
We make our way to the backroom where parties are held, finding pretty much everyone already here. Ben waves, adjusting his glasses as he does. “Glad you guys could make it, missed you last week.”
I feel my cheeks heating but I do my best to ignore it. I’m a grown alpha, it’s fine that I stayed home to help my partner with his heat! “I missed seeing everyone too.”
“Don’t lie,” Ryder butts in with a smirk, his kohl-lined eyes shining. “We know you were having a good time at home and didn’t think about work for one second.”
“Ryder,” Ben hisses, shoving his elbow into Ryder’s chest. “Don’t be an ass.”
“Well, if you are what you eat.”
Ben shakes his head, pinching the bridge of his nose. “For what it’s worth,” he says, looking between me and Calvin, “I’m happy for you guys. You smell scent-bonded and happy.”
I startle, taking a giant breath in.Oh. Wearescent bonded, his blueberry scent mixing with my warm bread in my very skin. “Thanks,” is all I say with a wide smile, ignoring the way my inner alpha ispreeninghappily at this new discovery. How the hell haven’t I noticed sooner?
“And there’s the man of the hour!”
Christopher walks into the room, looking around at everyone with wide, green eyes. His eyes narrow as they land on Harrison and Derek. “Please tell me you’re not gonna be like this theentiretime.”
Derek winces as he gives a shrug. “I’d rather not lie to your face.”
Harrison slaps Derek’s chest, making Christopher crack the tiniest smile. “Lie to him, Derek. We can’t have him changing his mind.”
Christopher crosses his arms over his chest, popping his hip out to one side in the sassiest way. “Like I could even if I wanted to.”
Derek and Harrison look at each other, their eyes sickenly fond. I nudge Calvin with my elbow. “They’re having a moment.”
“I know,” he whispers back so only I can hear. “It’s so gross.” I look at him and smile, my eyes going all fond without meaning them to. “Stop,” he hisses out.
“What?”
“You’re looking at me the same way that they’re looking at each other. Stop being gross.”
“You’re a dick.
Calvin smirks. “I love you too.”
