He dropped five fingertips on my knee and inched them forward one finger at a time. “The itty bitty bird laid in Mordy’s bed.” He lifted his hand when I shoved my knee in his direction, and then he shoved my knee down onto the mattress. “Shewouldn’t move her arse. That is what she said,” he continued, pressing both of his hands onto my thighs. I knew I should stop him, but the familiar ache between my legs stopped me. When he touched me, my body reacted so differently than it did beneath Stone’s touch. Mordy’s touch sent electricity through every nerve ending in my body. When Stone touched me, it was like home. It was hard to explain. “But out came the tongue to drive her insane.”

My eyes widened in disbelief. If any other person was in the room with me, I wouldn’t believe the words he had just said could be put into action, but this was Mordy. With Mordy, I’d learned to expect the unexpected. Sure enough, when I looked up at him, he was in the process of straddling my legs, and his tongue swiped across his upper lip before he bit his lower one.

“Mordy, I swear if you bring that tongue anywhere near me, I’ll knee you in the balls.”

“That’s foreplay,Áilleacht. I like daylightÉan; she’s a feisty little kitty.” Of course, he had a comeback for that. I groaned, pulling the covers completely over my head, hoping he would give up and leave me alone. Surely, he couldn’t do any damage with me under here. A second later, he dragged a heavy fingertip up my thigh and stopped dangerously close to my nipple—centimeters away, in fact. My body instinctively arched with anticipation beneath his touch, and it took me a moment to reel in my hormones. I hissed and turned on my side, flipping him off of me in the process. He bounced on the mattress beside me, and I was too embarrassed to argue with him. This wasn’t fair to any of us. I wanted to blame Stone for telling me I wanted Mordy. After he essentially waved his green flag of approval, it was as if my mind ran out of reasons to resist Mordy. This wasn’t Stone’s fault, but he sure as shit hadn’t helped by being fine with everything.

Mordy’s hand lifted the covers I was hiding under, and he climbed underneath, scooting until his mouth was too close to my ear. “I won’t cross that line, lass, if you don’t ask me to. But I meant what I said.” I closed my eyes, refusing to look at him. If I even glanced at him, I was afraid of what I might let happen. I didn’t answer, so he continued, “I don’t have sex,Éan. I fuck, and I do it well.”

“I couldn’t give two shits what you do with that body as long as it doesn’t involve touching me,” I softly answered him with a lie.

“Aye, you’ve mentioned it, but the rest of your body doesn’t agree with what your mouth keeps saying.”

I huffed, allowing the veil of lies I hid behind to drop completely. “Well, the rest of my body is stupid and apparently likes being mistreated by lunatics like you. But thankfully, my brain and mouth agree that it will never happen.” My eyes opened. I was serious. He needed to know just how serious I was. I didn’t know if he and Stone had worked out some sick deal of using me like a fuck-puppet, but if that were the case, I did not want any part of it. It would be the most delicious mistake ever, but it would be a fucking mistake, nonetheless. Relationships were hard enough when they were between two people; adding another person to the mix was bound to increase the complications.

“The rest of your body is smart and apparently would love being mistreated and fucked by a lunatic like me.” His lips moved closer, and he placed a light kiss on my cheek. I gasped. I was speechless. He moved too fast for me to tell him not to do it. Not that I would have been able to do so because I couldn’t remember I had the ability to form words for a moment. That was one of the top five sexiest things anyone had ever said to me, landing just above what he said to me about the fact he fucked well. My core throbbed to be touched, but I ignored it.

“I take it your brain and mouth are reconsidering, huh,Éan?” A smug smile settled onto his face, and he winked at me. I didn’t know he had the ability to be such an arrogant asshole, and I definitely didn’t know I would be so turned on by him being one.

I shook my head.

He nodded his.

I shook my head faster.

He nodded his slower.

“Fuck! You’re impossible,” I finally blurted out.

“Always.” He smiled and hopped out of bed, pulling the blanket off me in the process. “Maybe the next time I tell you to get your arse moving, you’ll listen.”

“Doubtful.”

Chapter 8

Stone

Watching from the sidelines as Mordy and Bird grew closer to one another was fucking miserable. I didn’t know I would be my own gravedigger by telling her she could have us both, but that was what I had unknowingly done. The first shovel of dirt was when I didn’t stop Mordy from touching her. The second pile of dirt was when I broke her heart, and that was the moment I climbed inside the grave I’d made for myself. The coffin was closed when I stood idly by as the two of them became closer. I hated that I had been so hellbent on proving the point that Bird cared about Mordy in a way that she wasn’t yet aware of. Now, they weren’t attached at the hip, but Mordy was all for forming a man-hater club, with me being the only one they hated. Bird wasn’t thrilled to be accompanied by Mordy through every inch of this house, but he did that way before she realized it. Hell, he was probably doing it long before I noticed, too.

I hated that I was the reason we were not together and kicked myself every time I heard her giggle at something ridiculous that idiot brother of mine said. I kept reminding myself that this was my fault. All of it. I wasn’t the only one to blame because now ourrelationship wasn’t only her and me. Now, it included Mordy. I was the one who made sure he not only came between us, but I put him there as a damn permanent fixture.

“We have to meet up with Viking,” I said, hoping Bird would realize I was talking to her and not Mordy since he should be more than aware of club business, and I wouldn’t have to remind him of a meeting. Nothing. She did not move a muscle to show that she had acknowledged me. It had been a few weeks since I broke things off officially, and she hadn’t made it easy. She was pissed and made sure I didn’t forget it.

“Bird.”

“Mordicus, will you tell he who shall not be named that I’m not speaking to him.”

“Deartháir,Éandoesn’t want to hear your shite.”

My blood boiled, and it took every bit of strength I had not to dive across the couch at him while I drove my fist down his throat. “Fucking really, Regina? What are you, thirteen? And since when do you let Mordy speak for you?”

“Since you suggested she let us share her sweet cun?—”

“Get fucked, Mordy!”

“I try every day of my life, and then every night, the only girls that give me love are Rosey and Left-Flip Sally. The lass in my bed won’t let me touch her arse.”

“Seriously? Left-Flip… I do not want to know. Just shut the hell up, okay?” Bird spat out in a flustered manner before I had a chance to react, and it pissed me off even more as if she had confessed her undying love for him right there on the spot. They were having a normal conversation. Well, normal-ish.
