“Handsome like their daddy,” she grinned. He jerked back, staring at her.

“You’re not fighting me on this?”

“Nope. Whatever we just did wasn’t the kind of lovemaking I’ve ever experienced, CJ. It was otherworldly. That was what I always dreamed of. What I always wanted. You are one very well-formed male,” she laughed. “Beyond that, you’re sweet, and kind, and smart. I love everything about you.”

“Fuck yeah,” he growled, driving his thick cock into her once again.

She unhooked the bustier, tossing it to the side. Her large breasts bounced against her chest, and CJ gripped them, twisting and pulling. She never guessed it would be so erotic.

Jill didn’t remember when they stopped and showered, but somewhere in the night, they had. When she woke, her body smelled of fresh soap and linen. Sore, aching in places she didn’t know existed, she smelled the coffee.

It wasn’t shocking to see her own bag sitting on the big chair. She pulled on a pair of clean panties and then, spying his dress shirt, she pulled that on, buttoning it halfway. In the kitchen, he was staring at his tablet, answering e-mails.

“Good morning,” she smiled. He turned, licking his lips.

“Fuck yeah, it’s a good morning,” he smiled, pulling her toward him. “I like my shirt on you.”

“Me, too,” she said, kissing him. “I can smell you, and it makes me feel comforted.”

“Good. There’s a wedding breakfast this morning. We should get over there before someone knocks on the door for us.”

Dressed and ready for the crowd, they were shocked when someone did knock on the door of the cottage. CJ smiled, opening the door to find Georgie, his father, and Cam.

“We know, we know, we’re late. It’s my fault,” grinned CJ.

“CJ, it’s not that,” said Cam. He stared at the faces and then looked back at Jill.

“What’s wrong?”

“Jill, there are some MPs calling here looking for you. The colonel told them that you were interviewing here.”

“MPs? Why? Why would they want me?” she asked. Milo looked at his son, then back at the young woman he’d met the night before.

“Jill, your ex-fiancé was found dead outside your condo last night.” Jill stared at Milo, then back at CJ.

“B-But I was here. Obviously, I was here. Whatever he was doing at my home has nothing to do with me.”

“We know that, honey,” said Georgie, “but you do have to speak with them. We’ll have proof that you were here the last four days.”

“I have proof,” said CJ.

“You? We didn’t see one another until last night,” said Jill.

“I know, but I have other proof. I have a security camera that was facing your door.”

CHAPTER SIX

“You placed a camera facing my door?” she asked with a slight tone of anger. “Why? Did you not trust me?”

“Of course I trust you,” said CJ. “But I didn’t trust Tim. He’s the kind of guy who doesn’t like loose ends, and if he had anything to do with his teammate’s death, he knew that you were smart enough to figure that out sooner or later. Plus, you very well could have been the JAG to prosecute him. I wanted to watch over you, Jill. I just wanted to make sure that you were safe and no one was screwing around with your home.”

“But you did that without asking, CJ,” she said with tears in her eyes. “I would have agreed if you’d only asked me.”

“I know. I know, and I’m fucking sorry I didn’t tell you. I just wanted you to be safe.” Jill looked at Georgie, who shrugged.

“Honey, you might as well get used to that shit. Believe me, it’s going to get worse. Around here, they like to make sure there are no possibilities for any of us to be in harm’s way. He should have told you, but he did it for all the right reasons.”

“I’m really sorry I didn’t tell you,” he said, walking toward her. He slowly put his arms around her, and she looked up at him.
